"It seems like it is not going well huh?" Chisato commented.
"I'm already busy with my position as the class representative." Keita rejected.
"Me too! I'm Kei-kun's assistant, ehe!" Ayumi sparkled for a moment there.
"Ehe te nandayo!" Itsuki reacted.
"You know, I'm also busy with club, so not gonna join." Itsuki said.
"I see, so I'll go ahead and revoke all those positions, then you would reconsider right?" Chisato asked.
"Hey there, no need to be so hasty, there is always time to persuade them, maybe it'll work next time, alright?" Shinosuke hold Chisato back.
"If you said so..." Chisato blushed and retreated.
"I'm sorry for troubling you with this." Shinosuke apologized.
"It's no problem. It's been a while since the last incident. Hopefully it won't end too badly." Keita smiles.
"Well, hopefully..." Shinosuke bids his farewells.
"It's like he's got a harem recently or something." Ayumi said.
"A harem is just the most random thing." Itsuki doubts.
"You can't just doubt a women's intuition you know?" Ayumi said.
"Whatever he said to us do sound like he's conflicted between the two girls to me." Keita analyzed.
"See? Even Kei-kun agreed with me." Ayumi clung to Keita's arm.
"Keita, are you some kind of woman killer?" Itsuki said.
"I don't understand." Keita adjusts his glasses.
"Stop playing dumb!" Itsuki said.
"Hey, Keita-kun! I want to play too!" Himeko clings onto Keita's another arm.
"See?! It's just like girls are naturally drawn to you." Itsuki said.
"Come on, Itsuki-kun, you can cling to mine too." Himeko drags Itsuki's arm and pulled him to a wall.
"Ouch! I can charge you for an attempted murder you know?" Itsuki said.
"Oh no! I don't want to get caught!" Himeko started running.
"... She's such a lively girl." Keita sighs.
"Yeah, reminds me when she's young." Itsuki said.
"Take good care of Himeko for me, I'm counting on you, my friend." Itsuki is reminded of Haru's words.
"Isn't that a given?" Itsuki muttered as he returned to the classroom.
"I wondered how Haru-kun has been these days..." Ayumi said.
"Who knows? Hopefully he's doing fine." Keita shrugged. The two looked at each other and shared a laugh.
A few days passed and it is finally a weekend. Shinosuke asked Chisato out for a date. Shinosuke is there 20 minutes earlier, but Chisato still beats him by coming an hour earlier.
"How much is that you wanted to win?" Shinosuke gasped.
"Well, it's my first date! I'm so nervous!" Chisato said.
"Alright, we're walking around the stores first." Shinosuke looks at his notes.
"Confiscation!" Chisato snatched the note and stuffs it into her bag.
"How am I going to bring you to the best places for a date I spent the whole night working on?!" Shinosuke raged.
"Well... I don't want to go to places you don't really want to go..." Chisato said.
"I see... Then let's go for movies." Shinosuke said.
"Fine by me too." Chisato said.
"Oh, the light novel that was adapted into a movie!" Chisato pointed at a movie poster.
"Oh, this one. Let's go." Shinosuke smiled.
...
"Woah! Isn't that nice?" Chisato felt satisfied after the movie.
"To be honest, I never thought Hiro will chose that path." Shinosuke commented.
"But isn't that nice? He finally reunited with Haruka." Chisato smiled.
"But that would leave Rei to disappear." Shinosuke responded.
"If the two of them will truly become happy together, I don't think it's a big deal." Chisato said.
"You..." Shinosuke pulled Chisato towards him and embraced her.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Chisato asked.
"Mayoi, do you hate it?" Shinosuke asked.
"No, Shin-chan..." Chisato said.
"That's cringe you know?" Shinosuke commented.
"That's rude, at least I felt affectionate calling you that..." Chisato whispered.
"You're just so cute..." Shinosuke said.
"Hey... Me or Chisato, who is cuter?" Chisato asked.
"Both are the cutest in their own way." Shinosuke said.
"That's cunning..." Chisato dives into Shinosuke's chest.
The two finally decided to move on, and they spend their tea time at a nearby cafe.
It's already late evening, as they decided to leave. They are not heading home, but they went to Mayoi's house.
"So it's time?" Mayoi invited them in.
"Yeah, we had fun." Shinosuke said.
"I wished it could go on forever..." Chisato said in a trembling voice.
"Let's go upstairs." Mayoi leads the way.
"Oh, Shinosuke-san!" Mari called.
"Oh, Mari-chan, how were you these days?" Shinosuke said.
"No... Not again..." Mayoi emits an ominous aura.
"Eh, oh... Let's go on..." Shinosuke quickly entered Mayoi's room.
"Mari-chan, I have some important business with Shinosuke-kun, so please don't disturb us alright?" Mayoi said.
"Okay, if something weird happens I'll call mom you know?" Mari said.
"Well... Nothing weird will happen hahaha..." Mayoi laughs.
"Alright. Just go already." Mari said. Both Mayoi and Chisato entered the room and slid the door shut.
"From what I know I became a lost child at the junction there. If we tried to contact the being who turned me into this way, we might find answers." Chisato said.
"So this is your plan? Doesn't it sound dangerous?" Shinosuke asked.
"We have no choice, didn't we said we put our faith into her?" Mayoi said.
"I'm sorry, I'm not as dependable as you thought." Chisato apologized.
"Excuse me, is this Kurosaki-san?" Shinosuke made a call.
"I see, we're at..." Shinosuke told Kurosaki-san Mayoi's address.
"Who is that?" Mayoi asked.
"An expert in supernatural abnormalities." Shinosuke said.
"Well, I was told that we might lose Mayoi in this." Shinosuke said.
"What?!" Mayoi is shocked.
"That is why I had another plan. But I can't tell you, if you both found out, then the plan will fail. I'm sorry." Shinosuke explained.
"... Does that mean I can still be with you after this?" Chisato said.
"Yeah, don't worry. Even though we might lose memories of each other, I'll make sure to find you again." Shinosuke said.
"That is so cunning..." Chisato cried.
Kurosaki-san later called Shinosuke. Apparently, he has arrived. Shinosuke strengthened his resolve and embraced both Mayoi and Chisato tightly, reaffirming his feelings towards his undividable feelings towards them.
"Well, quite a beating you took, child." Junichirou said.
"Please help her, I beg of you..." Shinosuke pleaded.
"No, begging won't work. Neither is praying, all we do is to lift the curse that fogged your path forward." Junichirou explained.
"How are we going to do this?" Mayoi asked.
"First, we wait for the true night." Junichirou said.
"True night?" Chisato asked.
"I have to warn you again, if this ritual had succeeded, you will lose your memories of Mayoi. Are you sure to proceed?" Junichirou asked.
"I promised her to find her again even if I forgot about her." Shinosuke said.
"... You reminded me of one of my past encounters. Very well... Here it comes..." Junichirou picked up a pebble and threw it forward. The pebble got lost within the darkness, or it that fog?
"Kiri-no-kimi, I'm here again to stop your pranks." Junichirou said.
"... I hate that name!" An invisible being spoke.
"Well, that is the name I decided on you, so deal with it." Junichirou said.
"To speak so casually with a deity like that... He is sure abnormal." Shinosuke thought to himself.
"Well, are you going to lift your curses or not?" Junichirou asked.
"Of course not!" The being refused.
"Well... If you lifted the curse, they will return to their original life, which sounds uninteresting, but the lost child you created will remain lost, no?" Junichirou said.
"That is true... It might be interesting this way, fine. I'll lift your curse." The being agreed.
"I felt no gratitude from them, maybe it is going to be fun, ahahahaha!" The fog slowly faded, so as their consciousness.
"Ma-Mayoi...!" Shinosuke struggles to stand properly and reaches out to Chisato and Mayoi.
"Shin-chan... I love you..." Mayoi said as she smiles, a tear dropped.
"Mayoi-chan..." Chisato called out.
"Once lost, forever lost!" The being laughs as it faded away.
"Thanks, Kiri-no-kimi." Junichirou prayed.
"... However, you will lose again. Don't underestimate the power of bonds." Junichirou said as he summons his shikigamis to help the kids back to their houses.
"Good grief... Good thing I asked for all their addresses." Junichirou sighed.
