Chapter 61 - Himeko appears!

It's the next day, Itsuki gathered Keita and Ayumi in the courtyard before classes begin.

"Guys, hear me out. The time I ditched you guys yesterday, this happened..." Itsuki explained what happened when they were supposed to hang out at M's.

"To think you would even get into this kind of trouble, it's so unbelievable." Keita said.

"So you suddenly got yourself a fiancé?" Ayumi gasped.

"The problem is both of us already have someone we're interested in. We're not going to really be together." Itsuki said.

"I wonder who that person is...?" Ayumi smirked.

"So you expected help, am I wrong?" Keita said.

"I would be so grateful for that." Itsuki said. The three of them talked on the way back to class, just to find a commotion in the classroom.

"Hey, hey! What's your name? Are you a model or something?" The classmates were surrounding a seat, they're in the way, there is only one way to find out who that is.

"Guys! What's with this noise?" Itsuki cuts his way into the crowd and is surprised.

"Eh?! Himeko-chan?!" Itsuki is surprised.

"Hmmph..." Himeko looked angry.

"Wait... Why are you here?" Itsuki asked.

"It is important to spend as much time together with your future husband... Is what my father said." Himeko said.

"Oh my god..." Itsuki mumbled.

"So Himeko-chan is going to be married with Itsuki? What kind of nonsense is this?" Some of the classmates said.

"Come on now, keep it down!" Itsuki said. It's pretty rare to see him flustered and raised his voice like that. That even startled Himeko.

"I'll find a way around it. Please don't worry." Itsuki said.

"Just don't talk to me if it is unnecessary." Himeko said.

"..." Itsuki turned around and returned to his seat.

"H-hey!" Himeko called.

"...?" Itsuki tilted his head.

"A gentleman should be at least respond to what a lady says..." Himeko said.

"I apologize, I'm not a gentleman as you thought I am." Itsuki said.

"Grr..." Himeko looks dissatisfied. It seemed like Itsuki's plan worked on Himeko. He smirked slightly.

"She is a spoiled child according to what I observed. I can sometimes feel how Yamaguchi-san feels when he's with her." Itsuki said when they were still in the courtyard.

"So that is Himeko-chan... I was wondering if we are going to have a chance to meet her..." Ayumi muttered.

"And she's here..." Keita said. The two of them looked at each other, they both know this will outright become very troublesome.

"So what will happen to Itsuki?" Ayumi asked.

"If she is going to tag along, I think we just have to get used to it. We promised to help Itsuki after all." Keita said.

"Quiet down and go back to your seats! We have a new transfer student!" Ogura sensei entered the class, demanding discipline from her students.

"Stand! Bow! Good morning Ogura sensei!" Keita led the whole class for the greeting.

"So... This new student is already here... Ah there you are. Could you come in front to introduce yourself?" Ogura sensei asked. Himeko walked to the front of the class, and wrote her name on the board.

"Yamaguchi Himeko, nice to meet you." Himeko said politely. She may be a spoiled child, but her manners were impeccable.

"It seems like you've already found yourself a seat. So please get along with her from now on." Ogura sensei said.

"What a pain..." Itsuki muttered.

"Worried about what is going to happen?" Keita asked.

"Yeah... At this rate, I am sure to be ordered to follow her on the way back home." Itsuki facepalmed.

"That must be tough." Keita said.

"Yeah... I guess I'll have to do some preparations for later..." Itsuki started scheming.

"Just say the word if you need help with anything." Keita said.

"Aren't you too sweet to say that?" Itsuki teased.

"Just returning the favour." Keita said.

"Favour...? Heh... What happened yesterday between the two of you?" Itsuki asked.

"Nothing, we just hanged out." Keita responded.

"What are they talking about...?" Ayumi looked at the two of them talking to each other during homeroom.

"Who is that guy? To think that Itsuki-kun would have friends now... It's odd." Himeko thought.

"Stand, bow, thank you Ogura sensei!" The class ended, curious of what they might have been talking about throughout the class, Ayumi draws near.

"What were you two talking about?" Ayumi asked.

"Hmm... I kind of forgot what we talked just now." Itsuki said.

"You're lying!" Ayumi scowled.

"It's not like it's something big to worry about." Itsuki said.

"Well... If you said so..." Ayumi didn't feel like pressing further.

Meanwhile, Himeko would like to talk to them, yet she was being surrounded by curious classmates. Being unable to leave her seat, she had to bear with the questions that does not benefit her in any way.

"It's you guys again, just leave her alone." Itsuki noticed that Himeko doesn't seem to be happy about the classmates gathering around her.

"But-"

"No, just leave her alone." Itsuki stopped whatever the classmate wanted to say.

"It's not like you're her boyfriend or something..." One of the classmates said before leaving.

"We're more than that, what a joke." Itsuki muttered.

"Are you alright?" Itsuki asked.

"I-I'm fine..." Himeko said.

"I'll figure something out, don't worry." Itsuki said before going back to his group.

"I heard they are going to return the test results, I'm so nervous..." Ayumi said.

"Well, didn't you study enough for the exam? You should be fine." Itsuki said.

"Yeah... Can't help it but to feel nervous..." Ayumi said.

"Now that it reminds me." Keita said.

"What is it?" Itsuki asked.

"There is this one girl from 1-A, who knows who I am." Keita said.

"A girl?!" Both Itsuki and Ayumi is surprised.

"Why are you two so surprised?" Keita asked.

"Could it be... A rival appears...?" Itsuki muttered.

"She seems like she wants to compete with me in terms of grades." Keita said.

"Wow, that's something else...?" Itsuki is unsure how to react.

"Can't wait to see how we did in this exam..." Ayumi muttered, hoping to skip the few hours ahead until the results being released.
