The Military Jeep makes good time and after they've been on the road for several hours, they decide to stop for lunch. They also decide to stay away from the other cities to avoid conflicts so they pull out the food they packed in Pheonix City.
Jax, Zain, and Zea all climb out of the Jeep but Andre and Ethan stay in. One of the Vampire guards hands them some packed lunches as Jax looks to the Jeep with a frown. "Why aren't they coming out?" Jax asks with confusion.
Zea pulls out her sandwich and says "They're Vampires Jax. They can walk around during the day but I'm sure it's more comfortable for them to stay out of the sun when possible." Suddenly a low voice is heard behind her.
