Asta continues to frown making me slightly worried. "What's wrong, Asta?" I ask with concern. Asta twists her fingers as she says "That egg had to have been there for a very long time... even if you put it in this warming thing, it wouldn't hatch. It can't hatch without both parents."
Alec turns to look at the Dragon with a frown. "Can I drop the shield now? Will other creatures still come for it?" I ask standing up. Asta shrugs so I quickly drop the bubble and wait. Chip lifts his head and sniffs the air but he quickly says "The yummy smell is gone."
I breathe a sigh of relief and look over to Alec with a smile. He gives me a small smile in return but it doesn't quite reach his dark eyes. "What's wrong?" I ask him with an eye roll. He sighs at me and says "You clearly heard what Asta said... it shouldn't have hatched but it did... Why and how?"
