The flavors come to life in my mouth as the carrot hits my tongue. It was so good! I begin to dig in as Leo watches my every move. I swallow a large bite and look at him in question. "Why do you keep staring at me?" I ask with a frown.
Leo swallows his bite before saying "I can't taste food... not like you. Not like the living." I suddenly get a ping of sympathy in my heart before I shake it off. I just nod my head and go back to eating. We eat in silence but once we're done, Leo takes my hand again as we walk out.
His hand was still cold to the touch... He said "Not like the living" so I guess he's not alive? We make our way to a large stone arch and Leo quickly activates it. "Are you dead?" I suddenly blurt out making Leo pause. He turns to look at me as I bite my lip in regret.
