I pull the soft blankets closer as I bury my face into the familiar smells. "Are you feeling better?" Alec's deep voice has my eyes snapping open. I sit up and frown when I see myself in the bed... I fell asleep on the floor. I look back to Alec and give him a small smile.
He must have carried me to bed... I was feeling better but my head still hurt... "I'm better... What are you doing here? Where's Chip?" I ask looking around for Chip. Alec watches me with dark eyes as he sits in the large chair next to the bed.
"Can I not be here?" Alec asks in a low voice. I frown and look back to him as I say "That's not what I'm saying. I figured you'd be working..." He gives me a small smile but it seems a bit cold. "Chip left as soon as I got here. He was hungry... What happened at the CDC?"
