Chip walks over and plops down next to me. He lifts a paw to lick clean but freezes. His face scrunches up in disgust and lowers his paw. I can almost imagine what's going through his head at the moment.
With Chip on one side and Remi on the other, I'm feeling pleasantly warm. I lean my head back and close my eyes. I'm so tired... Before I realize it, I just drift off to a dreamless sleep. Chip lays next to Maya and closes his eyes as well.

Remi looks at the wall of the tunnel with the blue glowing worms. I can hear her breathing become slower and more even. I look over to her and Chip to find them both asleep. I thought I was going to lose her there for a moment.
I watch her sleep for a bit before I reach over to gently touch her cheek. She was so pretty it hurt... I clench my free hand. If only I had met her before Alec... I know we would make the perfect couple. She can still choose me if she were to change her mind... she doesn't have to stay with him...
