"Shhh... maybe we should just wait for her to wake up... she looks like she drank a lot," May says pulling me out of my deep sleep. I open my eyes and groan. I turn to the side and say "The light buuurns..."
I hear Chip snort as the shutters come down basking the entire living room in blissful darkness.
"Wow... did you see that?"
"Is it a smart house?"
"Shhh, you idiot!"
I sit up saying "Thanks Chip." Chip walks over and rubs up against me with a deep purr. "Did we wake you up? I'm really sorry..." May says with a frown. I wave her off as I slowly stand "No, I need to get up so we can head to the City. Another wave will be coming today so we need to hurry."
"Shit! For real!? Wait... how do you know this?" Jason says from the kitchen. I run my hands through my long tangled hair as I walk to my room. "All the City leaders are notified before it happens and if you remember, the City leader of Inner Black City was here just last night. I'll be ready in thirty."
