"You've been hurt," I say with a frown as I try to pull away but Alec won't let go. "I'm fine Maya... answer me," Alec says with a low, calm voice. I push his hands away and step back. I swallow against my queazy stomach and say "Warn me before you do that again... I feel like I'm going to throw up..."
Alec growls making my head snap up to him. He steps closer saying "Why don't you ever listen to me! You could have been severely hurt!" I frown at his outburst and say "Look, Alec, I know this is coming from a good place and you're just worried about me but I'm fine."
"I've been on my own for a long time now... I can take care of myself." I say standing my ground. Alec groans and turns as he runs his hands through his dark hair. "This has nothing to do with your ability to take care of yourself. I'm trying to keep you safe!"
