I groan and slowly open my eyes to find everything completely dark. I became so used to seeing the glowing text that it was unnerving. I slowly sit up and look around in confusion. The door was open letting in the moonlight.
I look around and stretch. I feel so much better but I was still hungry. I must have fallen asleep... That was a horrible dream... I slowly stand up and look for Chip. "Chip?" I call but I don't see him. Did he go outside? Normally he stays by my side when I'm sleeping to keep me safe.
I walk outside "Chip?" But I don't see him. "Mistress it's a wonderful night! Come and see...." He stops in his track and lowers his body. I look at him in confusion when I see him shaking. "What's wrong with you?" I ask stepping closer.
The Crawler crawls backward and says "I mean no disrespect Mistress, I always knew you were here to save us but seeing you now I know for sure." I frown at his words as a cold feeling begins creeping into my heart.
