Chapter 2 - In the sky

Jacob couldn't believe it. He was flying. Apparently Nightwing had flown before. She had led Jacob into the woods, quite far away from all humans, and shown him how. Nightwing flew slowly and majestically, which fitted her considering her wing's color, a bright white. Like an angel. Jacobs were more of a very dark purple, they almost looked black. "Demon," he thought and smiled. He flew fast. Every now and then he would wrap his wings around his body and plummet head first towards the ground, and whip them open just in time, his wings acted like a parachute and would pull him back up into the sky. Nightwing went to stand on the branch of one of the tallest trees. She slowly descended until her feet where safely on the branch. The branch didn't shake at all. Jacob basically flew directly into the same branch, allowing it to catch his stomach and stop him.

"Bad idea," he moaned, as he climbed onto the branch and sat down.

Nightwing laughed. "I would never had thought that was a good idea," she said.

Jacob's phone buzzed, he looked down to see that his dad had come, and was looking for him. Jacob sighed, he didn't want to leave the place he was in now. "On my way," Jacob texted, to say that Jacob would go to the campsite he shared with his father now.

He looked at Nightwing, "I've got to go," he said. They descended to the ground, Jacob landing a bit to hard, it shook his entire figure. Nightwing landed peacefully besides him.

"Here," she said, handing him piece of paper, than she folded her wings to her back, and threw a sweatshirt on, over the shirt she had slits in the back so that her wings could fit through. Jacob did the same. Except when he had been flying he had his shirt off, he didn't dare slit it or ruin it. It was from his grandpa.

They walked out of the woods together, than separated, to their campsite. His dad was waiting for him when Jacob arrived.

"Hey, Jake," Jacob's dad said, "Sorry buddy, but I'm going to have to cut this camping trip short, I'm leaving tomorrow, turns out, I've been called in for work, make sure you have everything packed, by lets say, 8 am tomorrow."

"Okay" Jacob said, then thought to himself, "what job?"

When Jacob first got here, his mom had dropped him off, and his dad was supposed to come the same day, then they were going to camp for 3 days and leave, with his dad dropping him back off at his mom's house. It was just like the last two times his dad was supposed to visit him, or he was supposed to visit his dad. Something always happened. Something always got in the way.
