Chapter 23 - Far in Between (1)

...

"Achoo!"

Somewhere within the dark abyss, Qantas, who was leisurely walking, suddenly sneezed.

Halting his steps he adjusted the rim of his glasses and smiled slightly.

'My little sun must have been thinking about me!'

Letting out a soft chuckle, he waved his right hand, and the amethyst brooch on his neck glowed for a while. Suddenly, in midair, a bunch of golden keys appeared, falling down exactly within Qantas' hand.

Qantas held the keys, he looked at it for a bit and his violet eyes stopped on a specific key. Qantas clinched that key and faced forward. He gestured his hand with the key like opening a door...lo and behold a door really appeared– more like something like a portal.

When Qantas pointed the key to the air and acted like it was unlocking something, the air began to ripple like water being disturb. From the tip of the key, circles of rippling light spread until it turned into a portal.

Qantas let go of the keys and it disappeared as the amethyst brooch glowed once again. Then Qantas stepped up and went inside the portal.

Energetic voices were transmitted in his ears as Qantas made his way towards the other side. Qantas looked around, and saw many people strolling to and fro.

He suddenly appeared inside a mall, surrounded by many stylish youngsters. But no one was surprised or scared of his sudden appearance, as if they didn't know that he suddenly appeared.

Walking forward, Qantas wondered why there's so many people here, but that thought just went flash in his mind and didn't linger for long. Qantas came to this mall on purpose. So, without thinking much more, he went straight to the second floor, directly towards the doll shop.

Fluffy colorful stuffed toys and beautiful dolls welcomed Qantas as he went inside. But he wasn't interested in these things. Without looking around, he randomly went to get a stuffed bear and put it on the counter.

The cashier lady sneaked a peak at Qantas and blushed. Actually, when she saw him walking in, she was already feeling her heart beating hard. This is a handsome man ah. More so, this man is that kind of guy― the cold on the outside and warm on the inside kind of guy.

The cashier lady felt excited and watched the man snatched a pink bear without looking at it. He must have been shy, aww~

She wanted to talk to him. He's so cute! Especially that golden rimmed glasses, that super sexy three piece suit. He was so tall and handsome. This is an elite man! What a sweet guy. She wishes to have a boyfriend like him as well.

Not knowing what the cashier lady was thinking, Qantas pushed the pink teddy bear forward. He then went to get money from the pocket of his coat and gave it to the cashier.

Seeing the cashier lady not reacting, his cold indifferent face looked down at the cashier lady.

This small action of his stunned the cashier lady, making her soul fly away.

In the end, Qantas didn't wait for the cashier lady's soul to come back, he just directly put out a hundred dollars and left with the pink bear.

Without no one noticing, Qantas took out the keys again and inserted one towards the glass door of the store. Though, the glass door doesn't have any key hole, the golden key came through the glass door like there really was a key hole there.

When Qantas pulled out the key and went out of the store, the scenery he stepped into was nothing like the mall earlier.

It was now a bedroom. A neat, clean, beautiful bed room. Qantas was now at his residence somewhere outside of the country where Zyair is.

Anyway, his whereabouts were not important. Qantas went to proceed with what he was supposed to do.

He threw the pink bear on the bed without even looking at it, then went to sit on the couch, radiating an aura of a king sitting on his throne. Qantas finally turned to look at the pink bear and called out. "Nix." Silence descends once more. Qantas just stared at the pink bear and did not move.

One minute...

Three minutes...

Five minutes later...

The arms of the pink bear suddenly twitched, then it slowly moved to get up.

At first, it slowly lifted it's soft furry pink arms, then slowly climbed to stand. When the pink bear was finally able to stand with its two fluffy pink toes, it stared at Qantas without moving.

Dream World...

Click. Click. Sounds of cutlery and plate echoes silently beyond the boundless city of skies. The endless dark red sky in between the city scenery and the bloody moon still bleeding endlessly, accompanying this young man eating in the center of all of these.

Sitting leisurely on the railing of a floating broken foot bridge, hovering in between two cities; above and below.

His weird silver hair flutters even without the wind. His peculiar joker outfit, coupled with his scarlet eyes that see only the pastry on the plate, yet no reflection appeared within them. Adding this creepy looking thing, moving in his back, staring at him stupidly with its only intact eye.

The young man has this blank look on his face while eating this delicious looking pastry. With a bread knife at the right and a fort to the left, the young man elegantly slices a small piece of the cake, carefully getting it using the fork.

He was so focused, all his attention was just on his cake. He gently moved his hand, as if every action of his was measured. He lifted the fork and put the small slice of cake into his mouth.

His mouth was already watery. His saliva was dripping from the corners of his mouth down chin. Still, his movement did not change pace, and still carefully held the fork, and ate the cake little by little. Nevertheless, as he keeps on eating small slices of this pastry, his nose can't help but twitch, smelling it's sweet and delicious scent.

He wanted to eat it in one go. He was so hungry. Eating small bits and pieces, only makes his stomach grumble for more.

In the end, with a blank face, the young man emptied the plate of pastry at a slow pace.

Seeing what he had done, the thing moving in his back, slowly crawled upwards and climbed his shoulder. It turns out that it was a teddy bear, a broken one at that. The broken teddy bear patted the young man's head, praising him, at the same time, consoling him.

The young man accepted his companion's kind gesture and responded by rubbing his cheeks to it's raised arm.

Looking at the empty plate floating in front of him, the young man swallowed a mouthful of saliva. Just as he was about to look away, he heard his stomach grumbled.

Gurgled. Gurgled.
