The night seemed to be very long for Angelina. Natasha was crying non stop and nothing could ease her cries. Because of this Anushka was also awake way past her bedtime. Angelina was loosing her patience in the passing seconds. She had tried everything she knew about to make Natasha sleep but it seemed that she was keen on giving her older sissy a hard time.
"Oh God Natasha! What has gotten into you today? Why are you crying like this? I checked for any injuries but you don't have any, are you having a bad stomach? God when will you learn to speak so that you can tell me what is wrong. It will be so easier when you can say what you are feeling. God this is so useless, what do I do? And Anushka go to sleep in the other room baby, you have school tomorrow and need to get some rest. I will put her to sleep. Common now off to bed." Angelina groaned at first but then turned her attention to half asleep Anushka.
Anushka sat up straight when she heard her sister talking to her. "I am not leaving you alone to deal with Nate. If you are staying up late with her, then so am I. You always take care of us and stay up late to help me in my studies all the while waking up at what 5 in the morning. You are hardly getting any sleep so if any one should go to sleep it should be you and not me as I can sleep in the afternoon while you can't." The young girl talked in such a mature way that it shocked Angelina. She was used to the bubbly, playful self of Anushka. This was something different she was experiencing. But this did not mean that she could let Anushka stay awake any longer. Mustering her most stern look ever she said "What I did is my duty as your older sister. There is no reason for you to repay anything to me. Plus it is almost one in the morning you need sleep. I don't want to deal with your teachers calling me just because you slept in their classes. So you are going to sleep in the other room and that is final. Do you understand me?"
Anushka wanted to fight more on this but sensing the stern expression on Angelina's face she knew this was not the time to arguing with her. So she sighed in defeat, "Fine I am going to sleep but you will wake me up if you need any help. Promise me and only then will I go to sleep." "Okay I promise that if I need any help I will call you now common off to bed." Angelina chided her slightly. There was a strange feeling in her heart. The care she was subjected to by her younger sibling had warmed her heart. After the death of her parents two months ago, there was no one to worry so much about her. So seeing her sister taking care of her was making her feel content.
