"Don't they look perfect together?" Lisa said to Caleb when she saw Ethan and Aisha at the dance floor. Caleb was just staring at her smiling face. She really looked gorgeous tonight. Caleb was just ogling at her when he saw a guy approaching their table. The man was looking intently at Lisa. Caleb flared up in annoyance.
"Then would you like to dance as well?" Caleb stood up immediately offering his hand to Lisa. Lisa eyed him suspiciously.
"Damn this woman! Can you stop your pervert thoughts?!" Then he forcefully pulled her to the dance floor. Lisa creased her brow as she pouted with her arms crossed. "Shall we?" Caleb smiled victoriously.
"Do I even have a choice?" Lisa glared at him but then she held his hand as they started to dance with the music. The first love song ended then another song was played, some guests decided to join in.
"When you wake up each morning, and you feel like calling,
"I'll be there for you,
"When the road seems uncertain, and you can't stop the hurtin'
"I'll be there for you," The song continued.
Aisha could feel Ethan's heart beating clearly. She could smell his cool fragrance and she could feel his cold breath in her ears. She loved the tenderness that she was feeling at the moment. But she never heard Ethan spoke to her since the other day. Though she knew that Ethan was not mad at all, but his sudden silence gave her discomfort.
"Uhm, E-Ethan…?" She calls his name in a hush voice
"Ehm…" He answered.
"A-are we good?" She asked, still leaning at Ethan's shoulder.
"Ehm, Of course." He smiled moderately. Aisha was not convinced so she looked at his eyes, as if looking for something that was not there. Her forehead spoke of her worries.
"Why? Is there something wrong?" Ethan asked as he smiled lightly. Aisha shifted her gaze sideways. It seemed like something was off, she kinda felt nervous all of a sudden. But why?
"The rainbow will end, In the palm of your hand,
"Don't ever let it go,
"When the stars won't shine anymore,
"I'll be there….
"Who knows where we'll go,
"What will tomorrow bring,
"But we have each other, just hold on tight,
"We can take to the skies and fly…
"I'll be there for you….
"I'll be there for you…
Aisha and Ethan were silent for a few second as they listened to the song. Ethan could see her hesitation. She really wanted to say something but she was thinking twice.
"Uhm, Ethan… W-what if, what if someone lied to you?" She mumbled unconsciously.
"Eh? What do you mean?" He asked.
"Ah, what if you've been lied to? What will you do?" She tried to fix her question. She looked at him. Ethan gaze somewhere as if he was thinking carefully.
"Well, basically I will get angry at that person. But it depends on the reason though." He answered.
"And what if that person deceived you?"
"Well, that's a terrible case. I don't think I can ever forgive that person." His voice was firm. Aisha gulped. She felt her knees trembled a bit, but Ethan held her lower back.
"Are you okay?" He asked her.
"Y-yes! I'm sorry." She smiled unsteadily. "I-I just feel sorry for a friend." She explained.
"You don't look good at all. Would you like to go back?" Ethan queried.
"Ah, yeah sure." Aisha faked a smile when they went back to their table. She saw Eli and Master Omni smiling at them.
The host continued the celebration but neither Ethan not Aisha spoke the whole celebration. They only spoke when they were asked.
After the post celebration party, each guest started to bid their goodbyes. Caleb and Lisa said their goodbyes to the couple.
"Make sure to send her home safely." Aisha eyed Caleb dangerously.
"Of course, just count on this gentleman!" Caleb bragged.
"Stacy, are you sure you will entrust your best friend's life to this person?" Lisa complained.
"Ha-ha! Of course. Just go and be safe. Call me when you get home." Aisha smiled at them. Lisa hugged her before they totally left.
"Then I'll get going too." Master Omni approached them. He caressed Eli's hair who was soundly sleeping at Ethan's shoulder.
"Take care Grandpa, thanks for coming." Aisha smiled at him.
"Anything for my grandson." He smiled back.
"Ethan, take care." Master Omni patted Ethan's shoulder then he kissed Stacy on the cheek before leaving.
"Bye grandpa. Call us when you get home." Ethan spoke.
The hotel was almost empty, the staffs started to fix the hall. Larry approached them to let them know that the car was ready.
Inside the car, only Eli's vague snooze could be heard. Larry didn't know as to why the couple was so silent all throughout the drive.
Ethan laid Eli on his bed as soon as they arrived home. Aisha, on the other hand was standing outside the mini terrace of their room. She was looking at the bright stars while in deep thought. After a while, Ethan stood beside her as he gazed at the stars in the sky.
"Ethan, what if one day you discover that the person you thought you've found was not actually the person you were expecting her to be?" Aisha asked out of the blue. There was silence for some seconds.
"Care to elaborate it further?" Ethan asked as he faced her.
"Ethan, I need to tell you something." She faced him earnestly.
