Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Going Back Home With Ethan

Ethan was in his office reading the reports that his assistant gave him yesterday. They were reports about the latest updates from the White Lotus department- the most famous branded clothing manufacturer well-known all over the country. Also, they were able to penetrate Asia and now they were targeting to saturate Europe. However, the Chief Director of White Lotus Department wasn't doing her job, but he already expected it from Stacy. It was only a title given to her. She wasn't interested in managing it anyway.

She didn't have any interest in doing her job, Instead, Ethan's personal assistant Larry was the one managing the department. If only Stacy did her job, then there would have been less work for him. His job should only be signing documents from White Lotus, but for the past years, he's been directly supervising the Manufacturing Department of White Lotus. It was just one of their minor establishments because their company capitalized more on hotel expansion, airlines and now the coastline project. They were planning to build a shipping company as well. Stacy loved spending money on collecting fashion jewelries and travelling abroad and Larry was the one who supervised the White Lotus department which gave Ethan a headache.

Ethan was busy reviewing the reports when he received a call from Robert, Stacy's father who said that they had found Stacy at one of the hospital in the North Central of Oregon. It was a 3 hours drive away from the Central City, so he told his secretary to cancel all his appointments for the day. For Ethan, it was not a matter of her significance in his life anymore. His heart became as cold as ice for the past few days. He was so upset about his wife's unfaithfulness that he wanted to make her regret all the things that she did to him and for making a fool out of him.

"Go straight to North Centennial Hospital." He said in a cold voice.

"Aye, Sir." His driver drove for more than 3 hours before reaching the said Hospital but they were caught in a traffic jam along the way. His father-in-law said that Stacy got into an accident and was able to regain her consciousness a few days ago.

The doctors and staffs were surprised to see a powerful figure that entered the hospital. The female staffs whispered to each other while holding onto their breaths. "Oh my, he is indeed so handsome…" They dreamily said to each other.

It was their first time to see the famous great CEO of SaphiroGentz Empire Corporation. They owned a lot of business establishments. They also managed to make a name across the globe. It was well known all over the country that they owned the most luxurious hospital located in the Central City of Oregon, that was why the staffs of North Centennial Hospital were surprised at his arrival.

The female director of the hospital rushed to greet him, though she was less surprised to see him. It was as if she knew that Ethan would be coming to the hospital.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Williams. May I know the reason of your sudden visit?" The director respectfully asked.

"I'm here to see someone." He emotionlessly answered. His personal assistant told her about Stacy so they led him to her room.

Some of the staffs who heard that his wife was in the hospital started gossiping. "I heard that his wife run away." One of the staffs' murmured.

"I heard that she is divorcing him for another guy," said another. "His wife got a nerve, huh?" Another said irritatingly. One of the staff silenced them. "Shhh, do you want to lose your jobs? Be silent before he hears you!"

When Ethan entered the room, he saw Stacy sleeping soundly in a hospital gown.

"What happened to her?" He asked indifferently.

"As to what happened to her, we do not know yet Sir. Someone called the hospital a week ago and we found her covered in blood. But she only injured her foot and she's good to go now." One of the doctors answered.

Ethan motioned Larry to fix her hospital bills. "We'll go home as soon as she wakes up."

"Yes Sir." His assistant answered before he went out the room.

Aisha woke up when she heard a guy talking to someone over the phone. She opened her eyes to see who was inside, but the light outside the window blinded her momentarily. She tried to get up but she felt something heavy on her foot. She cursed inside when she remembered something.

"Oh, I forgot about this stupid little play. Why do I have to agree to this in the first place!" She mumbled.

"I can see that you're fully awake." She can hear the aloofness in the voice of the man approaching her bed.

"E-Ethan?" Then she remembered everything Robert told her to do. "Ahhh, Yeah, I should have seen this coming." She told herself.

"Tsk!" The man coldly stared at her. "Get up, we are going home."

"E-ehh?" She stared at him. "G-go home?"

Ethan looked at her, "Or do you want to stay here for the rest of your life?"

"…." "What's with this attitude? Is he not happy to see his wife?" She thought.

"Are you that disappointed to see me instead of your lover?" His voice was accusing.

"L-lover…" Aisha was shocked to hear his statement. She accepted Robert's proposition because she thought that her sister's relationship with her husband was going well. She never thought it would be this complicated. If she could only back away, then she would definitely do it now. But there was no turning back. She must face it no matter what. This was for her sister anyway. Whatever happened to them, whatever her sister did, she would find out soon. She would try to fix everything until she comes back.

Ethan saw her questioning look. He smirked.

"I really admire how you managed to act innocently despite all the things that you've done. I've had enough of your performance." He walked towards her and tightly clutched her hand.

"Woman, pretend as much as you want! But you can't make a fool out of me anymore. I'll make sure you will regret everything. I will never go easy on you again!" He threatened. Aisha shuddered when she saw the vicious look in his eyes. Just what the hell did her sister do to provoke this man she thought.

"I-I'm hurting…" Aisha pleaded. Ethan released his grip as he exited the room. She sighed. After a couple of minutes, Larry came in with some nurses holding a wheelchair.

"Ma'am Stacy, we'll be leaving in a minute." Larry spoke. Aisha smiled as a response.

All throughout the drive, Larry was suffocated with the dreadful silence. Neither Ethan nor Stacy uttered a single word at all. It was so awkward at the same time deafening so he asked the driver to play a smooth music to kill the eerie atmosphere. It was then that Aisha fell asleep unconsciously.

Ethan looked at her for a moment as if inspecting her. He felt something odd but he could not figure what that was, so he shook his head.

"Daddy!" Eli came running as soon as he spotted his father. He hugged him. He averted his gaze inside the car. It was when he saw a woman who just woke up.

"Mommy?" The little boy asked inquiringly. He scrutinized her from head to toe.

"H-hi, Eli…" She muttered. "What am I supposed to call him?" She was questioning herself in her mind. She smiled at him. Eli just stared at her blankly.

"Eli, let's go back inside." With that, he held his son's hand as they walk hand in hand. "Take her to the room." He instructed the butler and some maids to assist her.

"I-is this how her husband usually acts?" She mulled over as she stroked her temple.
