Not far from Jun Xi's pavilion, two girl's were walking and talking. If anyone had seen them from the day before, they would recognize them as the same girls who were fawning over Fu Ping on the training fields. They were two sisters named, Dai Lei and Dai Jie.
"Are you sure it's this way?" Dai Jie asked.
"Of course I'm sure." Dai Lei replied.
"I can't wait to see who that unlucky star that became First Senior Brother's disciple is and teach her a lesson!" Dai Jie said, forming a fist.
"En! Ever since we heard the news yesterday, sister Fu Ping has locked herself up inside her room and refuses to come out." Dai Lei said.
"I hope she's okay. That fall yesterday didn't look pretty." Dai Jie said.
"It's all because of that unlucky star!" Dai Lei growled. "Oh, look! We're here!"
The two of them stopped outside a large wooden gate. On the signboard above the gate it said "Sky Pavilion", which was the name of Jun Xi's pavilion.
"So now what do we do? If we break in we might anger First Senior Brother." Dai Jie said, suddenly sounding anxious.
"Hmm... Let's try to look over the wall first." Dai Lei said, looking up and down the wall that surrounded the courtyard.
"Isn't it too high?" Dai Jie asked.
Dai Lei walked up to the wall. "Come over here!" She called to Dai Jie.
"What do you want to do?" asked Dai Jie.
"Just stand here and I'll climb up on your shoulders." Dai Lei said.
Dai Jie didn't look to happy about the idea but reluctantly lowered herself so that Dai Lei could climb up on her.
"Ouch! Watch we're you're stepping!" Dai Jie complained.
"Don't be such a nag! Quick raise me higher!" Dai Lei shouted back.
With shaking legs Dai Jie rose up and lifted her sister up.
"Can you see anything?" Dai Jie asked.
"No, get me higher!" Dai Lei said.
Higher? Dai Jie broke into a cold sweat. Her legs were shaking so much that they might give way at any moment. But she didn't want to anger her sister, so she forced her last bit of strength into her legs and slowly stood on her toes.
"How about now?" Dai Jie asked, sweat pouring down her forehead.
"Just a little higher!" Dai Lei said.
Meanwhile, inside the courtyard under the stone pavilion, Ming Yue was happily slurping down some soup, when she suddenly heard a loud thud and a girl's scream just outside the wall. She was so surprised that the bowl of Spicy Red Ginger Soup she was drinking splashed all over her face.
Ming Yue frowned and grabbed a white cloth and wiped her face, however all it did was create streaks of red across her face.
What was that? She asked herself as she got up from her seat. She walked over to the gate and carefully opened it. Outside she saw two girls lying in a heap on the ground, and when they saw her, they screamed.
"D-demon!" The two girl's looked horrified when they saw Ming Yue's face covered in streaks of Spicy Red Ginger Soup and scrambled up on their legs and ran away.
"Demon?" Ming Yue was shocked. "I've been found out? They're going to kill me!" She quickly closed and locked the gate. "What do I do? What do I do?" She bit her lower lip and her eyes anxiously darted around.
Ming Yue ran into her room. She sat down on the bed and wrapped herself with the bed sheets. Facing the door, her whole body was shaking from fear and anxiety. Tears began to well up in her eyes. "Jun Xi, where are you?"
Hours went by and the sun slowly went below the horizon.
The room was now dark and every sound seemed to be heightened. Ming Yue was still sitting under the bed sheets, shivering in fear, and ears on highest alert. When she suddenly heard footsteps approaching the room from down the hall.
Terrified she squeezed herself into a little ball.
The door opened and a familiar face appeared.
"Jun Xi!" Ming Yue threw off the bed sheets and pounced into his embrace and began bawling her eyes out.
Jun Xi calmly stood there, waiting for her to calm down. "What happened?"
Ming Yue, sobbingly, recounted what happened during breakfast with the two girls.
Jun Xi suddenly traced his finger along her cheek and then tasted it, "Spicy Red Ginger Soup?"
"Huh?" Ming Yue looked up at him, her big eyes glaring with clearness from being washed by tears.
"Ouch!"
Ming Yue's mood quickly changed and her eye's glared at him. She'd been flicked on the forehead again!
"You don't have to worry about anyone finding out you're demon unless you transform into a fruit in front of them or remove the ring I gave you. The ring is hiding your demonic aura, even I can't tell the difference with it on, so how could my junior brothers and sisters do it?" Jun Xi explained.
"Are you sure?" Ming Yue asked.
"I'm sure. The only one in this sect that could possibly see your demonic aura despite the ring is the sect's Patriarch, but that old foggy would probably not care at all." Jun Xi said.
"Probably? That doesn't sound very reassuring..." Ming Yue complained.
"You've already met him and you're still alive, aren't you?" Jun Xi said.
"What? When did I meet him?" Ming Yue asked.
"Yesterday. He was sitting in the head chair in the main hall when we met the three elders. You probably didn't notice him." Jun Xi said.
"Hmm... But if he won't do anything against me, why are you worried the others will?" Ming Yue asked.
"That's different. The Patriarch seldomly intervenes in the sect's business anymore. And everyone else is taught to resist and eradicate evil in all their forms. That's why the word 'righteous' exists in the name of the sect." He explained.
"But I'm not evil!" Ming Yue half-frowned and half-pouted.
"I know. I know." Jun Xi said while petting the top of her head.
Feeling his hand on top of her head, Ming Yue shyly looked down at the floor. A small smile grew on her lips.
