"Haha! Clever! I thought you are overtly stupid and gullible. At least you managed to realize yours and your man's doom. Clever!" the Shaman laughed as if loosing herself in the thought.
Her eerie laughter rung to the ears and splitting every bits of sanity from those who hear her. And this is exactly what Tadeo feels. He can't help but gnash in pain and anger of seeing this nightmare over and over again but can't do anything to stop everything from happening.
Because it already did happen in the past.
The scene of the nightmare suddenly shifts. He's seeing before his eyes how the evil Shaman conspired with the forest beasts to trap Maliya in a tombstone and put her to sleep, leading to her death.
This is an extremely easy task for the Shaman alone because for them, Maliya is a woman and so gullible and weak but to hurt Tadeo, whose persona is Bernardo, at this painful dream, she toyed with the woman and made her suffer an untollerably painful death.
Bernardo at this time was send to a task by her father Don Sancho to wish for allegiance from a neighboring tribe, he thouroughly agreed because this party's Datu and one of the master elders had done something considerable to him when he was young so he agreed.
He was also curious how he was instead sent by his father and not King Alfonso when the matter is about allegiance. But he ignored this fact because he personally wanted to thank the other party concerned anyway.
This is through Ising's insistence and Bernardo felt bad about it at first but haven't felt any suspicion towards his stepmother so he agreed, not knowing that upon his arrival, it would already be the end of his happiness, his smile-clad world with Maliya.
Meanwhile, in a neighboring kingdom, Datu Dimakulem, Maliya's father learned about Maliya's disapperance and soon after sent hundred troupes to Tanay but later followed suit because he can't manage to wait.
"Where is my daughter? King Alfonso? Where the hell is your bastard nephew?"
"Gracious Datu, Miss was last seen together with Bernardo as they go through the Forest." said a gentle looking woman who appears thin and dirty beside King Alfonso. The woman is wearing shabby clothes which show his status as a slave. This is the same slave who asked Maliya to go to the forest alone.
"What? What did that Bastard do to my daughter?" The old man belowed and commanded to his subordinates,
"Go to the forest now and find them!"
He also directed a deathly warming to Alfonso saying, "If anything happens to my child, this would be the end of this tribe!"
Alfonso did not like his tune but he knows that he's capable of eradicating their very existence because Datu Dimakulem is known to be a man who secretly obtained an agimat than is slowly turning him into a god-like being. He doesn't dare to oppose someone he can't beat.
