Everyone was shocked, not a single soul had expected James to be able to hit Hajime but now, all that stood was a cloud of Smoak that was slowly dissipating, everyone stood with their eyes peeled waiting to see the result of the attack and the injuries the prince sustained, as the cloud slowly vanished a silhouette could be seen standing tall inside
"I've got to hand it to you kid, you're strong" a loud voice boomed through the cafeteria and a pair of glowing red eyes shone through like a demon in the dark, the cloud vanished and outstepped Hajime, his and raised with a magic shield in front of him "It's a good thing my clothes are fireproof" his shield was partially cracked and some fire had broken through, his mechanical arms were discolored slightly from the heat of the fire all the while he was tapping his feet, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap.
"H-how can you be alive? that was my strongest attack" The boy panicked and fired another blast at Hajime, the latter quickly sidestepped and then he pulled out a small dagger and drove it into the ground with a loud crack as the concrete was pierced, he chanted a few magic words in elvish and a large magic circle appeared floating vertically in mid-air with five points on it. tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap.
"You're fast but I'll kill you today," the boy said, regaining his composer as he saw Hajime trying to set up a spell, taking the opportunity, the boy opened fire, and just as the blast was about the hit Hajime finished the chant and the circle absorbed the magic, a line quickly formed between the five points, connecting them and forming a pentagon then, he sent this magic circle flying at James, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap.
"you made me use my magic to empower your elven prism sphere trap? that was smart however you should know that trap is very weak" The boy shot the trap and it broke apart, however, the trap upon breaking apart shattered and the pieces flew at the boy like shards of broken glass being turned into bullets, the boy was cut in a few areas but still stood, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap. The crowd jeered and cheered, enjoying the fight however they all stopped when they saw this, they had to admit that although Hajime's magic was not very powerful, he certainly had a knack for strategy, seeing a few steps ahead an using the opponents attacks against them, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap.
"Yield boy," Hajime said firmly tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap.
"Never and who are you calling boy, you can't possibly be much older"
"If you don't want to be treated like a child, stop acting like one"
"How dare you, I will kill you right here right now, this fight is over" the boy summoned his own familiar, knowing that Hajime could not summon his own due to the seal placed on him before he withdrew his familiar, a massive gorilla with fire cascading off of its body in waves, a rank 4, beast the familiar, the beast put its hand on the boy's gun and supercharged it, "Any last words.. prince" He said the last word with contempt and hatred
"You're right this fight is over, haven't you noticed it yet?"
"Noticed what?" the boy asked now more confused than ever
"I stopped tapping" Hajime spoke in a condescending manner and a large group of serpents all slithered out from the ceiling, dropped to the floor and tightly wrapped around him, constricting him until he let out his final breath and the life faded from his eyes, his familiar vanishing into nothing, while the crowd started to talk amongst themselves
"An Indian serpent nest spell"
"That was clever and deadly"
"The bastard lost before the match even began"
"The prince really was just toying with him the entire time"
Hajime looked at his sister and wrapped his wings around her shielding her from the stares and murmurs of the crowd surrounding them as he took her back to the dorm and put a blanket over her "I'll explain to the dean why you're not in your classes, in the meantime, get some rest, I'm sure that must have been incredibly stressful mentally and emotionally
"Thanks, Hajime," she said as she dozed off
Hajime went to the dean's office and explained the entire situation before heading to class, including his fight, hiding not a single detail from the dean and the student was immediately suspended along with his friends or goons
