Kimie makes Goro go on a date with her after striking a 'deal' that if he does, she would listen to what he has to say while on the other hand he too has to listen what she has to say. The date was where they played together as little kids and Kimie feels regret that when they were younger, she did not accepting Goro's promise.
Summer, 6 YEARS AGO
When they first met, Kimie was lonely and Goro wanted to become her friend. Goro decided to take Kimie to the zoo and spend all day with her. Her fascination with the animals she'd never seen before and even something as simple as a flavored ice treat surprised Goro, and he took delight in her joy. After their trip to the zoo, they visited a nearby river to play in the cool water since the day's heat was bearing down. While waiting for their clothes to dry, Kimie remarked it was the best day of her entire life, even mildly embarrassing Goro when she showed no modesty. During the bus ride back to town, she felt regret that she couldn't spend time with Kimie anymore. When she learned he was going to a nearby festival for the last day of his visit, Kimie wanted to go as well.
They frequented the summer-time game vendors, wherein Kimie wanted to best Goro to impress him, though he seemed to like her already, teasing her in a friendly way to get better. Kimie found herself driven to distraction by the thought that Goro was leaving Yokohama for a year till the next summer, and made him promise not to forget her. Unfortunately, Goro never visited the next summer or the other.
Now, Goro is feeling guilty for forgetting Kimie. Goro admits that he will love her as a friend and nothing more. "I'm sorry. I don't remember very well about the time that I played with you for the last time." Kimie starts crying and Goro comforts her. Kimie keeps thinking to herself that she wants this Goro now and forever. "I know it hurts you." Goro said.
