Chapter 2 - Anger With Longing

Goro and Kimie arrives at the inn and meets Ruka, who is really Kimie's aunt.

Ruka_ "Oh, Kimie! You finally found us! It's six years!"

Goro_ "Hey, mom."

Kimie_ "Aunt Ruka!"

The Kagawa Inn is run by Ruka, which is a hot spring lodge famous for its open-air onsen. The inn is a multi-story Japanese style Inn built on a small hill next to a river/stream overlooking the town.

Ruka_ "Don't worry, I already set up you bedroom, Kimie. I made it all pretty!"

Kimie is clinging to Goro again. Goro, who is greatly annoyed, tries to get her off, which causes her to run off angry. Kimie says "LET ME HOLD YOUR HAND, GORO!" Kimie performs a Dragon Suplex_ Kimie moves behind her opponent and extended her hands upwards under their armpits, holding their neck with interlaced fingers, putting them in a full nelson. She bridges with her back and legs, lifting her opponent over her and slamming them shoulders and back-first into the ground.

Later, Kimie enters her bedroom and feels armored. Goro, still hurt, is laying on the ground. Goto ask Kimie, "What the hell did I do to upset you?"

Kimie doesn't answer right away. Instead, she's quiet, and only speaks up in a muted tone after a moment of pause.

Kimie asks Goro, "Do you remember the festival we went to together when we were kids?"Don't

Goro says, " The festival? What are you talking about? Come on. That hardly seems important right now. " Kimie turns around and slaps him, and balls her fists up by her sides.

Kimie, "You jerk!" Still recoiling from the impact, Goro holds a hand to his reddened cheek and gazes at her in shock. Her hands go back to her sides, again balled into fists. Kimie says, "Your such an asshole, Goro." She turns and makes for the door, and she's still sobbing as she goes.

Goro them says, "What was all that about?"

I'm the bedroom, Kimie places her clothes on the bed along with her stuffed panda. Kimie cries and remembers her futile efforts to impress Goro with a difficult festival carving game, at which he was superb. Goro, while cocky about his skill, encourages her to practice more at this by the time he comes back the next summer, which sadly did not occur. In the present, Yuka looks at a collection of such carvings (including complicated, intricate ones) and knows that she has practiced over the years to one day impress him. She then breaks down into tears and crushes them all, wondering if all her efforts to impress him and her devotion to his memory would make her anything more than a great fool. Kimie's last words, "I'm such a fool!"
