"Fuck! ", said Shaun under his breath. Just after killing Harry and Josh he had heard footsteps. Someone was there, watching. After keeping the candies in the mouths of the corpses, Shaun decided to check who witnessed his thrill. He slowly walked towards the back door. It was strange, he could sense the person's fear, was it the adrenaline rush or was it his pure instincts, Shaun didn't know. He started running, he was calm and emotionless. He came near an opening, he scanned the area and thats when he saw, a faint shadow, hurrying towards what looked like a garage. "There you are! ", said Shaun as he headed towards this garage. Shaun was quite like a predator after its prey. On reaching the garage, Shaun peered through the opening in the door and what he saw excited him even more. A girl, terrified of him, hiding like a cornered animal.
_What is this feeling!? My heart is pounding so loudly, it hurts my ears! _
Shaun had never thought that something so trivial would give him so much thrill. He stopped for a minute to decide what to do, should he kill her or should he have a little more fun. He decided not to kill her, he wanted to know who this girl was. He went away and hid in the shadows.
10min
The door opened slowly and the girl peeked out, after a pause she came out and started running. Shaun decided to follow her. She ran for around 12min and then stopped in front of a house, she went in and after a min or so, the light in the room upstairs lit. "~So that's your room~", whispered Shaun to himelf, "Layla makovsky! ".
Shaun, after finding out who the girl was, decided to head home now. It was past midnight, and he also had to come up with the excuse for the blood on his hands. As he came near his house, he had a great idea. There were a lot of cats in the neighborhood, and Shaun caught and killed a cat. Picking up the cat, Shaun entered the front lawn. His dad was waiting in front of the house, "Where the hell have you been!? Do you know how worried we were? ". Shaun held the dead cat towards his dad and said, "Someone ran it over, I couldn't decide where to bury it". Shaun's dad misunderstood his emotionless face to be a trauma, he immediately answered, "You can bury it in the backyard, under that tree". After successfully fooling his dad, Shaun got into a shower, he was in deep thoughts on what to do about Layla. "Oh, I got a great idea!", said Shaun while grinning.
Next morning, it's Saturday.
Shaun woke up early, got dressed, and headed out. Upon reaching Layla's house Shaun waited for a few min and then decided, to go in. It was a small but tidy house, and it felt different from his house. What he saw here was a home, a family and it kinda irritated him. He waited while Layla's mum called her daughter. When Layla came in, she stopped in her tracks. Shaun could see the fear building up in her, beads of sweat rolling down her forehead and it excited him so much that he lost control and his eyes turned red. "Hey there, haven't seen you since last night. How you doing ?", said Shaun, trying to calm himself.
Layla didn't make a sound, she just stared at Shaun, horrified. "Please, don't kill me. I didn't see anything! ", she said trying very hard to hold back her tears. "Ah don't worry, I'm not here to kill you. I just wanted to talk. Is there any place where we could talk privately? ", Shaun was back to his calm, emotionless state.
They went to her bedroom, Shaun looked around for a bit and then sat on the bed, Layla was standing close to the door, in case she had to run. "Look, I have an offer for you. You don't tell anyone about what you saw, and I won't slaughter your family. Deal?", Layla's legs failed her and she dropped to the floor. After few minutes Layla replied, "Fine, I won't tell anyone, but can I ask you something? ", "Sure, go ahead", "Why did you kill them? Harry and Josh, I mean? ". Shaun paused at this question, then replied with a satisfied grin, "For fun! ". Layla knew instantly that the person in front of her was completely insane, but she couldn't understand why he's offering a deal not to kill her. As if reading her mind, Shaun said, "The deal I offered isn't free of cost, you need to stay close to me at all times, I have something which I need you to do for me. I'll tell you the details later", saying this Shaun got up to leave and headed downstairs. Before he left he turned around to Layla and warned, "Don't fuck with me, I'll rip you apart very slowly if you do", and left.
The rest of the day was pretty normal. Shaun helped at home with the chores, while he kept an eye out for any police vehicles heading towards the warehouses. Nothing, not one police vehicles showed up, it was strange. Did no one go up there and find the bodies!? Should he go and check. While he had these thoughts, a knock on the door was heard. He opened the door, to his surprise it was Layla. She said, "Come with me, I gotta show you something ", curious to what it might be, Shaun announced he's leaving with a friend and followed her. She started heading towards the warehouses, and what he saw completely stopped Shaun in his tracks. There was nothing! No bodies, no blood, nothing. He looked at Layla, wondering if this was her which she understood and replied, "I didn't do this, I just decided to check it when I saw no police cars around".
_Who could it be? Was there another witness? Is he/she helping me? _
Shaun decided to inspect a little. He looked every nook and corner of the warehouse and found no clues. As he was about to give up, he saw a faint writing on the wall. It was poem of some sort, it said,
"There was once a tiger, in a dense jungle,
it killed all its prey, while they all struggled,
But little did it know, a hunter had followed,
Now will the tiger be killed, or will the hunter be swallowed? ".
- I'm watching you.
Shaun was deeply disturbed by this, he couldn't believe that he was so sloppy that there were two witnesses, but what does this mean, is it a challenge, he didn't know.
Just as he was about to leave, a stone came in flying, wrapped in a paper, it said, "Meet me near the lake, behind the school" - I'm watching you.
Shaun chuckled at this, while Layla was worried, she wondered what would happen to their deal if there was someone else who had seen the incident. Shaun looked up at the sky and let out a sigh, "Guess I gotta up my game huh", saying this Shaun started walking towards the school.
