Chapter 1 - The Beginning

"Shin Jao..."

"Mortal low-level talent, Fail! Next!"

"Kin Tan..."

"Mortal low-level talent, Fail! Next!"

What's with that noise? Ughh, my head...Where am I?'

Standing in front of him were several kids, lining.

In the front, a middle age man was holding the kid's palm, inspecting it.

"Jan Xiashu..." and after several moments he clearly said.

"Mortal low-level talent, Fail! Next!"

Slowly but surely the line shortened and slowly it was his turn next.

"Xing Yun..."

'Wait... Did I get reincarnated? wait, it's transmigrated not reincarnated. Was it truck-kun?... Ugh, my head still feels numb. By the way, where am I?'

After looking around, Xing Yun noticed that he was inside some sort of hall, a basic wooden hall.

Looking at the middle age man who is currently holding his hand. Xing Yun felt a warm current of energy entered through his palm and through his body.

'Hmm?! This is? Is this some kind of talent inspection? Will this be like those main protagonists in the novels!? Having an unrivalled talent, perception, or some sort?'

'Will I have those as well? Is this the beginning of my legend? My fame and glory?'

'Hehehehe! Come! Come and be amazed! Mwhahahaha.' Xing Yun excitedly thought.

"Mortal low-level talent, Fail! Next!"

As soon as the words fell out of the middle age man's mouth, Xing Yun stood, frozen.

'Eh?...'

Being led by the elders outside the hall, Xing Yun mechanically walked west of the village.

It was here where his fuzzy memories currently lead him.

'I...'

----

With the flush verdant leaves, and the warm smell of the earth.

A small ten-year-old boy can be seen, laying around the soft and comfy grass.

In his mouth, a thick grass straw is dangling.

The ten-year-old boy sighed.

'That was kind of anticlimactic. I wonder what happened in my previous life?'

'Why am I here? My name is clearly Xing Yun, which meaning I don't even know.'

'And I'm in this place called Southern Leaves village. An orphan, a kid...a ten-year-old kid to be exact.'

*Sigh* 'I thought my life here would be the same as those main characters I've read.'

'Wait!? I remember those stories yet, I can't remember what happened next... Ugh, my head.'

'Anyways, If I possessed this kid's body, then where is his original soul?'

Xing Yun sat up, his face in shock.

Did I swallow his soul or something!?

I... *sigh* so many questions, too little answers.

By the way, I wonder what does Mortal low-level talent means.

Does that mean I have no talent for... for what?

Xing Yun stood up and hurriedly walked towards the Village Center Hall where the inspections are almost over.

---

"Elder Su, thank you for inspecting the kids this year, We'll hope to see you next year." the Village Head bowed towards that middle age man.

"It's my pleasure to work here in my hometown, Village Leader Xiao. Anyways, let's go!" Elder Su along with four other kids who had Mortal high-level talent walked together with Elder Su towards the entrance of the village.

"Haha, Safe travels Elder Su, Farewell."

"Farewell." and with that, Elder Su with the four other kids, was surrounded with blue energy and began flying away.

At the same time as they flew, a ten-year-old boy saw them, and he stood there in shock.

...Cultivator!!

---

Xing Yun, who saw that event began shaking in excitement.

A real flying person! A real Cultivator!

Xing Yun began cackling, then slowly but surely it turned into laughter, then he began wildly laughing like mad!

"MWAHAHAHA! A REAL LIVING CULTIVATOR!" Xing Yung victoriously shouted.

The surrounding villagers looked at Xing Yun's antics, smiling wryly.

Has he gone mad?

*Sigh* poor kid.

Most went away, while some look at him poorly. Like some mentally disabled person.

Haha! Those stories were really true! This is the real world now! This is not a novel anymore! and I'm here! Alive! I'm Alive! Hahaha!

Wow~

Anyways, now let's head to the library.

---

The Southern Leaves Village, albeit a village, has all the necessary facilities to function as a city does. It has the library, the Village Center, a clinic, blacksmith, market, and all the necessary stuff to build a city.

Although their facilities are not up to standard and are only subpar, it will make do. Though Xing Yun, as he began shuffling through hundreds of books.

He first selected the Map section of the Library and began reading there.

The Southern Leaves Village along with the other five villages near it were unranked villages. According to the book, unranked villages or those with the unranked titles are those places that have no cultivator in them.

They only have a mortal populace and have no cultivator to protect them with. They only have the basic necessities to live by, and has no worth in the eyes of a Cultivator powerhouse.

Above the Southern Leaves Village, was the Gale Sect. A One Star Sect that has the protection of a Mortal Realm Level Cultivator.

What's a Mortal Realm Cultivator? Xing Yun thought, but upon noticing that he was in the Maps Section of the library, he returned the book to the wooden shelf and went to the Cultivator Section of the Library.
