It was summer break, and Leigh was hanging out with her then best friend Kate. Leigh and Kate knew each other since childhood and they both had a relationship as close as sisters, so they would always hang out at each others houses. They were not only best friends but also neighbors and they shared almost everything with each other.
So it was a summer evening and they were both talking about Zedd, the boy who Leigh was setting up with Kate, while they were talking about him in Kate's bedroom they were also stalking his social media account to dig up some more information about him. As they were scrolling through his feed they came across a picture of five guys chilling by the pool in only their shorts and nothing else. They were casually sitting by the edge of the pool and looking at the guy who was clicking their picture. Zedd was a very close friend of Leigh, he was more like a brother to her and she was his little sister so she happened to know a lot of his friends and Kate knew it and looked at it as an opportunity to get to know Zedd better.
As they looked over his feed Kate kept asking Leigh questions about Zedd and the people she saw with him in the pictures. Just then the picture of the boys sitting by the edge of the pool popped up and Kate was curious to know about the people around Zedd as she had developed a liking towards him. Leigh knew everyone in the picture except for one boy who sat right next to Zedd with his arm resting on his shoulder, she told Kate about the guys in the picture and then her gaze fell upon the boy next to Zedd, she studied him for a while and said "I've no idea who this guy is, but he sure is cute". After this they continued looking over his feed and stalking him for a while until they realised it was almost time they left to meet Zedd who had called them at a nearby park. Just as they glanced over to the watch Kate's eyes widened in shock and panic as they were gonna be late. She hurried and got up shutting the computer and plugging her phone in to charge as she ran off to change her clothes and get ready, as Leigh saw Kate getting ready in a hurry she couldn't help but chuckle looking at her best friend running all over the house in a fit of panic and excitement. As Kate looked over to where Leigh sat she raised her brow and said "hurry up!! or we won't make it to the park in time!! we're gonna be late Leigh". After she was done getting ready Leigh grabbed her phone and waited for Kate by the door while she was putting on her sneakers. As soon as Leigh was done she called for Kate while taking a look at her watch saying "Hurry up K, now we're really gonna be late if you don't get your ass here right now! come on, let's go! " as soon as Kate heard her best friend she came rushing out of the bedroom while applying a her lip gloss which left a slight tint of pink on her lips, she grabbed her phone and they left the house immediately rushing over to the Park.
The park wasn't very far away from where they lived so they walked over to the park but the road which led to the park was under construction and it took a little longer for them to reach their destination. They reached their destination in about 15 minutes and rushed into the park at their usual spot where they met. When the girls walked in Leigh was taken aback to see her middle school crush, Karl sitting next to Zedd right in front of her, he was smiling at her as his gaze was locked on her, she didn't feel good looking at him moreover she hated his presence more than anything. He stood up and took a few strides towards her but she walked past him and went over to Zedd and hugged him and spoke to him for a while before she informed Kate and Zedd that she'd be going for a run around the park. After this she left the couple to talk, as she didn't want to be a third wheel and also she didn't want to be around her former crush while he stared at her in surprise as she didn't even acknowledge his presence and took large strides over to the track where a couple of people were jogging.
