Author POV:
"How the hell did that happen?" Bond exclaimed, perplexing everyone present there.
"I don't know, but father and mother were too tired to fight back." Feng Mian seemed partially annoyed.
"Did he die?" Pin shot up.
Everyone was too shocked to ask any sensible question.
However, Feng Mian seemed to become happier as the questions increased. It was perhaps the first time in his life that someone showed concern to his complexes.
"Guys, let's not annoy him more." Spence said as he waved his hands in front of Bond and Pin, glaring at them intently.
"It's fine. Besides Tetsuo, no one had asked me such questions. It made me happy." Feng Mian's face flashed a bright smile.
"Look up!" Bond exclaimed loudly, pointing towards the sky.
It was a beautiful streak of white light, heading towards the Earth. It left a trail of sparkles as it crossed the layers of the sky.
"It's a shooting star!" Feng Mian cried.
The backdrop of the shooting star against the almost visible milky way was truly magical. Although the courtyard was engulfed by darkness, the bright light of the full moon was enough to make their faces glow. It was a sight to behold.
"This looks awesome!" Binh said as he picked up a chip and crunched it between his teeth.
"It reminds me of times with Sam." Spence said as he turned away. Bond noticed a tear in his eye.
"Aw... Come on." Pin wrapped him in his duvet and caressed his back. "It's fine, you've got us."
"Yeah, thanks." Spence picked up a corner of the duvet and wiped his tears. "I can hold onto you all." He said as he clenched the duvet.
"Hey Spence, what happened to Sam?" Feng Mian seemed curious.
"He died." Spence shot an immediate reply.
Feng Mian somehow was feeling guilty for asking the question. He was suddenly struck by the the memories after the incident.
"Your brother was a witch!"
"Your mother was a characterless person."
"Your real father is a demon."
Were some of the thoughts that surfaced in his mind. The neighborhood ladies weren't kind enough to let them go. Instead, they wanted to see his family collapse. Entirely.
"It's not my mistake!" He yelled loudly.
His mind began to drift off into the oblivion. The ability to perceive the world was decreasing as his mind's focus was diverting towards the single topic. Due to which, he could feel his vision blur by the passing minute.
"Hey Feng Mian!" Binh shook him by the shoulders, snapping him back to the reality.
"Yes?" His breathing had become audible now.
Binh threw his duvet around him and closed it from the front. Pin rushed to him and picked up his soft hands, that were peeking outside the cover.
"It's fine. It's fine." He said as he hugged the trembling body.
At that time, Bond noticed someone standing by the common window. He had the same fair face and amethyst eyes. The only thing different was his clothes. They were a lot more normal than before.
"What's Haruko doing in the dorms?" He muttered as he looked at Spence.
"Maybe he wants to meet us?"
"No, I don't think so." Bond kept on staring at the window. "He's here for something else."
"What could it be?" Spence looked up but he couldn't see Haruko anywhere.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of footsteps. It's loudness increased by each step. Before they knew, Haruko was standing in front of their eyes, seeming creepy as always.
"What do you need?" Spence asked. He seemed annoyed.
"I'm just here to have some fun." He said as he took out a cigarette and put it in his mouth. The lighter followed soon after and within no time, the smell of tobacco filled the air.
"Do you want one?" He asked to Bond, pointing the box at him.
Bond politely refused.
"Please go smoke somewhere else." Spence said as he coughed.
"Spence darling, that day you just left me in that dire state." He shot a playful glance at Spence, puffing out a cloud of smoke. "Atleast you should have completed what you started. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it."
Everyone's face turned red as they became flustered. Except Bond. He was angry. At that point, an active volcano stood atop his head, waiting for the right moment to erupt.
"Anyways, see you all tomorrow at the SEC." He turned his back and headed upstairs.
Spence noticed Bond's face, which was raging with fury. He tightly clenched his arm and whispered, "It's not what you think it is."
"What do you mean?!" Bond yelled. "Are you telling me you didn't do anything intimate?"
"No... I mean yes... But no. It was not like that." Spence hesitantly answered.
The whole commotion had died down and all that remained was a deadly silence, with a hint of awkwardness.
"I am going upstairs, you all can enjoy." Bond got up and rushed upstairs.
"Anyway, why am I answerable to you? I don't even know you well." Spence laughed. "Neither should you interrupt in my matters!" He yelled, but somehow, those words hit him back more than the others. A sharp pain rose from the depths of his heart.
'What the heck is happening? ' He asked to himself.
