At that moment, there was a sharp knock at the door.
Bond snapped at the sound and rushed to open the door. It was Pin and he seemed as if he had just taken a shower. His raven black hair was dripping wet and the t-shirt clung to his lean body.
"We have to go now." He said in a monotonous voice.
"Where?"
"To that darned SEC." He rolled his eyes.
"But why again?" Bond leaned his head on the door.
"I seriously don't know. Besides, today's incident did not even bother them. So, it is a very normal day for them."
"You go, I will bring Spence along." Bond said with a deep sigh.
"Okay then. See you there." Pin's voice trailed off as he walked away.
Bond shut the door and walked towards Spence, who seemed better than before. Even though his eyes were puffy and swollen, his hair standing upright in a mess, there was a sense of peace on his face. Peace that was missing ten minutes ago.
"Spence, I think we should go now." Bond said in a raspy voice.
"Where?" Spence questioned back.
"To the SEC. They have called us again."
"Can't they let us live our own lives according to our wishes? Is it necessary to be a puppet controlled by strings every single time?" Spence began to narrate dramatically.
Bond was too tired to comprehend what Spence was trying to say. "Look, I don't understand what you are trying to say. I sincerely apologise for that."
"Yeah, I understand." He gave a blank reply. Spence got up amd headed towards the door. Bond followed him and they both left the room, this time making sure it got locked.
All students had gathered in the corridor and were anticipating the opening of the gates. After an anxious wait of ten minutes, the gates opened and the students were greeted by Haruko's blinding rose gold outfit.
"Welcome back to the SEC, everyone!" He exclaimed.
"He could not be less excited." Pin muttered in annoyance.
"Come in, dear students!" He gestured them to enter the room.
At once, all of the students rushed inside the room as they noticed the door had started to close. The SEC was nothing different from before. The room was covered with red and blue lights at regular intervals which made the hue of the room purple as a whole.
As usual, Haruko went onto the stage and a hexagonal prism shaped glass box was brought in. He opened the small door on the top of the box and dug his hand inside, searching for the chit. He got hold of the chit in the corner of the box and took it out.
"The winner of this unlucky draw is Kurou and Yu Han. You have one day to think about your past life." He announced with an excited undertone.
"What is all this?!" Yu Han turned towards Kurou.
He had seen the previous tasks and they were not innocent ones at all. Besides, he was the shortest guy of the school and Kurou was the tallest. It was natural that he had to disagree.
'How are we going to complete the tasks?'
He shot a glance at Kurou, who seemed completely calm and composed as always. He had black hair that showed a midnight blue hue when light fell upon it. His straight bangs fell on his round face tapered at the chin. He had a beautiful pair of hazel eyes that perfectly enhanced the slightly rounded eyes meeting near the nose bridge.
Why does Yu Han give so much attention to detail? The answer is simple: Kurou was the only person he noticed in the school and even beyond.
"Kurou san, how are we going to do the tasks?" He questioned timidly, hiding his red face.
"Don't worry, we will do it." He had a calm reply.
"Now, you can all go back to your rooms. See you soon!" Haruko turned back and headed to his room.
All the students left the SEC at once and headed back to the dorm corridor. After an awkward silence that lasted for a while, gradually, chaos broke out.
"What is next task going to be?"
"Those poor souls."
These were some of the concerns the students openly expressed. However, Yu Han only knew one thing: he had to support Kurou no matter what.
They both headed to their room and sat on their corresponding beds. Yu Han dug his backpack and found a crumpled photograph. He took it out and straightened it. It was the photo of a boy about his age but he seemed older. His horn-rimmed spectacles made him seem like an old man. One thing that was familiar was the beautiful round hazel eyes.
"What is that?" Kurou got up and moved towards him.
"Nothing, Kurou san."
However, the picture meant a lot to Yu Han. After all, it was the first person he fell in love with.
