Aditya took a drag on his cigarette as he rubbed his forehead with his other hand. The throbbing pain made it hard for him to concentrate. If he was not worried about Kumari, Aditya would have preferred to continue staying unconscious instead of being here.
Tya would not give a straight answer as to what happened to him, and Aditya did not have the time to press any deeper. So, here he was, suffering severe headache due to an unknown reason, and smoking a cigarette after cigarette in hopes of reducing this pain.
Other than the pain, Aditya had undergone other changes as well. For one, he had somehow re-activated the 'Cellular Regulation' ability earlier than expected. So, the various injuries that Aditya had previously sustained, such as torn tendons, ruptured ligaments and other blood vessels, scarred tissues had been completely healed in a matter of few minutes.
Even though all of his wounds had been healed, one could notice a slight limp when Aditya walked. The force of habit caused this change; after all, he had been limping for the past few days. It would slowly fade away.
This healing ability could not activate at a better time as Aditya could now take on Divit without resorting to any 'clever' tricks. But still, this ability was more of a pleasant surprise than shock. There was another change that Aditya felt in himself, which was quite scary and overwhelming at the same time. He was able to 'feel' the presence of humans around him.
Yes, Aditya was able to experience the existence of people even without seeing or detecting them through any of the sense organs. Aditya could not explain how he was able to do that, but the fact was proved again and again.
Take the present situation as an example; the whole floor was filled with darkness and smoke. Aditya did not have any night vision capabilities or equipment, but he could tell the positions of every person on this floor.
Aditya just knew it. It was as simple as that. He perceived the locations of Divit, Thomas or even Kumari. In fact, he was able to 'see' Kumari since the moment Aditya awakened from his unconsciousness.
The range was somewhere between 400m and 500m. It was similar to seeing dots in a radar. Each person had a 'distinctive' feel around them, which made it possible for Aditya to differentiate them. If the person was his friends or acquaintances, then Aditya could easily recognise them when they were in this range.
Aditya felt that he knew the truth of the matter, but it as if a sheet of thin paper was separating him from it. Aditya even had an inexplicable natural feeling about this ability. It was like he knew that this was bound to happen one day, like how a baby naturally learns to walk at the end of the crawling phase.
Aditya finished the smoke in a few seconds and threw the bud away as he saw that Divit had climbed out of the car. Aditya knew the positions of Mahendra Rajpath and others, so he knew that no one had noticed the changes on the ninth floor yet. It looked like Divit was not one of their main priorities as all of their concentration was on Mahendra Rajpath.
One could hear heavy sounds of fireworks coming from the neighbourhood. It was a marriage procession which was passing through the street. It was just an arrangement of Aditya to create a cover for any 'unnatural' sounds that might be produced. Faizal was responsible for this cover. Faizal was the bridegroom on the white horse in this procession. What a sight it would be!
All these preparations may seem like overkilling it, but one had to know that they were made to fight Mahendra and not just Divit. Aditya could cancel this procession, but the money had already been spent, and Aditya really wanted to see Faizal in the Bridegroom costume.
Also, since Aditya was completely cured, he wanted to practice his skills with this young master as he had dared to lay his dirty hands on Kumkum. How could Aditya let Divit off without injecting real horror into his bones? Actually, he did not plan on letting off Divit.
Although Aditya looked calm, his blood was raging inside. The thought of what would have happened to Kumari if he was a little late, kept him from entertaining any form of merciful thoughts.
"Thomas, stop the smoke grenades," Aditya instructed as he stretched his back as he prepared himself. Aditya knew that the fight was far from finished. He was a little surprised that the 'Kevlar Fungus' of Divit seemed different from the norm.
Aditya had noticed that when he kicked Divit, a small amount of force had rebounded back into his leg. If it had not been for his Cellular Regulation ability, where every cell could be manipulated to absorb a small amount of force evenly, Aditya's leg could have been hurt.
"Roger, Little Boss," Thomas replied when he knew that Aditya had come at last. Thomas was also curious about the abilities of this kid. Tonight had indeed broadened his horizon, and he wanted to know where Aditya stood among these inhumanly strong people. Thomas and others had heard the crash sound when Divit was hit, but they didn't know what had happened.
