BANG!
"Damn, no wonder Little Boss said that we could not take on him. But, I did not imagine that this fellow would turn out to be so strong. Is he a human or a demon from hell? Where is Little boss? Can he manage this situation? People are going to die if the little boss doesn't come now. Manu and Imran are already severely injured," Thomas thought as he ducked with his back to a pillar and threw a smoke canister to maintain the thick smokescreen. A black Audi skidded perpendicularly and smashed into the column behind him.
Cold sweat streamed down Thomas's forehead when he felt the thick concrete pillar behind him vibrate. Thomas cursed himself in his heart when he remembered that it was his mistake that the situation has degraded to this level.
A few minutes earlier,
After Thomas got Aditya's order, he instructed others to attack accordingly. Thomas went for the most straightforward attack plan instead of a sophisticated manoeuvre. They were a few advantages and disadvantages to this move.
For one, they had the element of surprise on their side as they had taken positions long before the birthday party began. The security detail of Divit had not paid attention to the parking garage as Divit was not supposed even to enter this building. If everything went according to plan, the valet would bring his car directly to the forefront of the Trade tower. The Organisation modified the vehicle, and it was impossible to hack it or trig it with explosives.
The other advantage was that Thomas and others possessed the most suitable offensive and defensive positions. They utilised the surrounding features, the lighting and the shadows to the best. Thanks to Aditya's information, they were knowledgeable about the Auxilia, their equipment and the optimal ways to handle them.
Also, if Divit was with Mahendra, the security would have been on a whole other level. But because of Divit's 'change of plan', the guard was divided between Mahendra and Divit, thus making the task easier.
Thomas and others had these 'awesome' guns, which could make the bulletproof capabilities of the Auxilia ineffective and irrelevant. They were thirty of them while a mere eight Auxilia protected Divit. With so many pros, Thomas did not feel the need to make the fight complicated. His strategy was similar to a famous military strategy 'Blitzkrieg'. Hitler had extensively used this strategy in the second world war. Blitzkrieg means "lightning war" in German, and it referred to a fast-moving, highly aggressive, generally unexpected attack using overwhelming forces.
Coming to the cons, the place of engaging was very near to the Tradetower. Eventhough, Thomas had locked down the ninth level and isolated it from the outside world. If the security outside the building got a small whiff of trouble, it meant the failure of their operation. No one could know about this attack. So, they would have to finish this fight as soon as possible.
The Little Boss had even given a piece of expensive-looking equipment to Thomas. This machine was supposed to jam all kinds of electronic communications from this area. Thomas had brought a 'modified' van which contained all types of equipment which were directed entirely at dealing with these people. Thomas had already activated that machine as per the established plan. As long as sounds which resembled pandamonium were not produced, Thomas had a comfortable space to operate without extra worries.
Also, Thomas and others looked no less than the US Navy Seals if you compared only the equipment they were donning. Dark Camouflaging Bulletproof jackets, Bulletproof helmets mounted with night vision goggles. A small Nett Warrior to quickly relay instructions and share information. As for training in diverse skillsets like combative skills, fast roping, sniper training etc. it is better if one didn't talk about it. In a way, they were a bunch of 'new money' in this field. They possessed all the items but lacked class.
The other negative aspect was that Thomas did not have the time to wait for the right moment as Little Boss did not want the girl to get hurt. Thanks to this idiotic middle-aged man, all the bodyguards of Divit were on alert. Though even in their alertness, these bodyguards would not have expected that a bunch of hooligans equipped with 'anti-Auxilia' weapons were lying in ambush.
But again, this middle-aged man inadvertently delayed Divit from having his way with the girl. Otherwise, it would have been late by the time Aditya contacted them. As they were going to attack Divit anyway, might as well save this fellow.
After making sure that everyone was ready, Thomas gave the go-ahead. The attack was executed and completed within a second.
Thomas's plan went better than he had expected. All the eight bodyguards were killed in the first assault itself. Anyway, thirty armed personnel killing eight guards by catching them unaware was nothing to boast. Thomas and others had murdered before when they followed their Boss (Rudra) and stole from smugglers. So, killing was not new to them.
What was unexpected was the effect of their weapons. Except for Thomas, others had emptied their magazines. Some feared that one bullet would not be enough; others were simply excited about these new weapons. As no one had fought Auxilia before, they did not know the required ammunition. Aditya had given some estimates, but they were very vague as Auxilia were classified into many levels. The higher the level of the person, the harder it was to kill them. No one knew the class of the bodyguards of Divit. So it was better to be safe than sorry.
The result of this over-the-top precautionary attitude was the creation of gaping holes in many places in each body of the security personnel, except Divit of course. There were simply no recognisable bodies anymore on the floor. The bodies of the eight bodyguards had almost disintegrated under the barrage of these bullets.
Divit, on the other hand, was perfectly fine on the outside. The same could not be said about his heart which froze when he saw the bloody scene around him. One had to know that even though Divit was 'enhanced' and possessed better equipment, he was still a novice in the matter of fighting and risking his life. Divit's mind went blank when he saw his security personnel killed in a second. His brain short-circuited after Divit saw the slowly expanding holes in their bodies. They had died without able to put any form of resistance.
Divit had a feeling of been stripped naked in a freezing night. He felt feeble and vulnerable. It was his first dangerous encounter in his life. He was like a plant in a greenhouse being left open in a desert to fend for himself. It was always Divit who controlled the lives of the people around him. So when things turned dire where his life seemed to be in the hands of others, his weak state of mind could not adapt. It's ironic how the people who seem so arrogant and powerful were actually delicate and easy to crack.
So, Divit squealed and ran towards a random direction. In his fright, Divit did not even think about entering his car, which was the safest option. He did not notice that the same ammunition which punched holes in these people failed to make an impact on him. Also, Divit's protection did not have any loopholes. Every inch of his body was covered. His vision was no impaired as a transparent sheet could be seen covered his eyes.
Thomas was startled when he saw this young master, who was running at a leopard's pace and squealing like a pig without fighting back. Thomas was afraid that this young master might escape their perimeter, which might bring in new variables. At that time, the situation would become complicated. But to his relief, this cowardly young master did not run towards the exit but a closed-end.
Thomas and his subordinates' morale increased when they noticed this fellow who was acting cowardly and running away. Their blood boiled, and the feeling of victory went to their heads. Like all vain men, Thomas had moments of unreasonable confidence. The last few months, where they were taught to always stick to the plan, was forgotten. Aditya had clearly ordered them not to confront Divit, and that he was not someone they could deal at the moment.
If this order was given by 'Rudra', then Thomas and others might not have dared to defy. The awe and respect that they had for their boss was ingrained in their psyche. But Aditya was someone who was new and 'ordinary'. Even though it was Aditya who led them to their Boss, he failed to make the same impact as 'Rudra'. Aditya's thin physique and injured countenance was unable to generate the same effect.
Though Thomas and others knew that their Boss had an excellent disguising technique, they would never link the 'weak' and 'lanky' Little Boss to the bull-like physique of 'Rudra'.
So, Thomas did not try to restrain his subordinates as they came out of their positions and started openly firing at Divit. 'If one bullet was not enough, ten should do the trick'. This logic was flawed at many levels. This point of time was where things went haywire.
