Chapter 8 - Purpose

Fenrir was very happy every day, even though the hunger sometimes made her not so happy. Her Master, and the girls that 'lingered' around him, all treated her very well. They helped teach Fenrir how to be a 'proper' lady and, by doing her best to act like a lady, Fenrir could get praises from her Master. She began to 'really' enjoy getting praised by him, and the link she felt with her Master was becoming stronger every day. Fenrir liked the feeling of the link because it let her 'feel' what her Master was thinking. She realized, if she could understand her Master's feelings, she could help to make him as happy as he made Fenrir...!

Happy times cannot last forever, and Fenrir felt the pain and anger of her Master when a bunch of bad people bullied the people he cared about. Fenrir didn't understand why her Master was so angry, but it made her feel angry for him. She wanted to tear apart the 'bad' people but, even though her Master was angrier than she had ever seen him, he still showed concern for her. Master had told Fenrir that 'killing' people was bad. It was only if they tried to hurt her, or the people she cared about, that Fenrir was allowed to hurt people. She was told that killing was only okay if she felt there was no other way out of the situation or the other person felt 'dangerous'. Thus, even though she wanted to help her Master, Fenrir was a 'good' girl and listened to his orders...

Master finally came back from chasing down the bad men and Fenrir could see it had hurt him a lot. Fenrir was very upset and it made the hungry feeling very painful to deal with. But, because she didn't want to make her Master even more upset, Fenrir did her best to resist the pain. Then, as if he understood she was hurting, Master came to Fenrir. He held her very close and enveloped her in his warmth in a way Fenrir had never experienced before. She understood he was hurting and it was her 'duty' to help him feel better. From that point on, Fenrir became her Master's 'anchor' whenever he felt sad and lonely. In exchange, he made the hungry feeling go away and Fenrir got to enjoy the warmth of her Master's body and his scent.

Fenrir 'really' like her Master's scent. It was like smelling something 'warm', 'sweet', and 'safe'. Fenrir didn't know why, but it felt like she could get full off just his smell...

Master ended up getting angry again, this time for different reasons than before. He brought back a lot of girls with him, something that bothered Fenrir, but they were very strange. Fenrir learned they used to be something called 'slaves', a word that made Fenrir feel anxious and hungry. One of the girls, who had fluffy hair, droopy ears, curly horns, and a puffy tail, was even more different than the rest. Fenrir could tell by the look in her eyes that the girl her Master had brought home was hurting a lot. For the first time, Fenrir empathized with someone because the girl's appearance reminded her of when she was sad and lonely in the past. When her Master gave her the order to protect the girl from bullies, Fenrir swore she wouldn't let anyone hurt the small Sheep Person ever again...

(Fenrir's Commentary: 'Preasia was one of Fenrir's first friends...')
