Right at the door Jiu bumped into Xueyan who was about to go in.
"Oh I forgot you're here for the interview, why don't I leave in a word or two for you?"
Jiu asked no one in particular as she held onto Xueyan's shoulder and walked back into the office, "Father this is my friend Xueyan, we attended the same high school as Zhao—i just want to put in a word or two for her, maybe she will get a good position with my support."
She put on a thinking face as she stared at Rong Bo. Giving her one of his best smiles he nodded at Jiu and answered with only one word.
"Ok." Xueyan sat down and wondered how the Xings and Fengs were related.
'She even called him father' truth be told she wasn't so close to Jiu in high school but they did bump into each other and Jiu was always nice to her. The school she thought she was going to get a scholarship from ended up being her worst nightmare.
"Xueyan..." Rong Bo called out.
"Yes. Bai Xueyan sir."
"You are the one with a child am I right?"
"... yes sir,"
"How old?"
"Seven years sir..."
"Will be Eight soon and not yet in kindergarten?" He interrupted her.
"Yes sir."
"And her father?" He asked as he searched for her file on his desk.
"..." 'I thought he has gotten all the information required...' Getting no answer but silence he looked up only to see her sorrowful expression.
"I... I'm sorry miss...I hope I'm not bringing back bad memories..." He stammered not sure of what to say.
"She's a product of r*pe..." She paused, raising her head to look straight in his eyes.
"... you are twenty-five and not even a high school certificate." He furrowed his brows. "If I may ask what talent do you posses?"
"I sure know how to design and a good cook." she looked back down at her fingers on her lap.
"Bai Xueyan, twenty-five years old and a daughter of seven years... why didn't you go to a clothing brand and apply as a designer?"
Giving her no time to answer he continued, "You once lived in Beijing but moved to Shanghai two years back. You are the first child of Mr and Mrs Bai who's business is dropping daily—How have you been surviving?" He finally looked up at her.
"My father is still managing the company and... he sends us allowance every month end..."
"A good father he is... That means you won't mind working in the kitchen to showcase your culinary skills."
"No sir...I mean I'm not that good at cooking...I will join the cleaning group."
"Laundry?"
"Rooms sir."
"Are you that confident? How many rooms can you get cleaned in a day?"
"Ten-fifteen isn't bad..."
He chuckled as his eyes widened slightly. "To tell you the truth I was expecting to hear about thirty-five or more..." He raised an eyebrow.
'Thirty-five? I would die even before I turn thirty'
"You aren't willing?" He asked.
"Of course yes...I mean I can do it." She stated firmly.
"Then you are assigned to the 30th floor, 1000RMB and free education for your child. The hotel also has a building for the employees on the eastern side, you can be given an accommodation." Rong Bo stated, signing her document. "Do you have any condition?"
Filled with joy and happiness Xueyan wanted to scream her lungs out, bow at his feet and worship him. "No, sir." Xueyan answered trying to hold in her excitement.
"We will give you time to ponder over it then you can give us a feedback tomorrow."
'Time? to ponder over what?' "No sir, I'm perfectly okay with everything."
"You can resume on next week Monday morning meet the manager and finalize everything."
She got up from her sit and gave a deep bow to Rong Bo before exiting the office.
"How was your interview?" Mei Han asked.
"It... it went well and I have gotten a job as a room cleaner," Xueyan beamed with happiness.
"Congratulations!" Mei Han cheered.
"Mei Han?" Secretary Jiang called out.
"Yes. Bye Xueyan see you soon."
Mei Han waved goodbye at Xueyan who reciprocated it with a big smile and wave.
