Chapter 121 - Where Could He Have Gone?

After the lights had turned back on, everyone took a minute to adapt to the bright lighting. Once they managed to open their eyes, they realized that other than Huan Hei who went to look for the staff, Qiu Rei was also missing on the stage.

Ya Nuo was the first person to notice that Qiu Rei was missing. 'Something fishy is going on. Ever since the lights in the rooms turned off, I was on high alert. Other than Huan Hei's steps, nobody got off the stage. Not only that, the door only opened once and that was when Huan Hei got out of the room to look for help. Where could he have gone?'

Grandpa Hoon pressed on his eyelids and the creases on his forehead deepened. Ya Nuo caught the change in his expression and immediately helped him to a seat. The thought of looking for Qiu Rei was instantly forgotten.

"Grandpa, are you feeling alright? You've been pale since you showed up. You said that the cane was for decoration, but you were leaning on it when I was holding onto you. Something is wrong with you right? Do you want need us to go to the hospital with you?" she said with an urgent tone.

Ku Ze brought a cup of warm water for Grandpa Hoon and repeated the same question. Grandpa Hoon waved his hands lightly, "I am just a little worn out. A good night sleep would do the trick. No need to go to the hospital. I've been there too long and literally came from there."

Ya Nuo frowned, "What were you doing in the hospital? Are you sick? See, I told you to wear more layers and not act coolly wearing shorts and short sleeves. You don't listen to me!"

Grandpa Hoon laughed and stroked her hair, "Child, I was there because of your grandma. I'm not the one who is sick."

Ku Ze worriedly asked, "What's wrong with mom? Why didn't you tell me that she was there? I would've gone with you two."

Grandpa Hoon coughed a few times, "This is why I didn't tell you. Even the tiniest paper cut would get you all worked up. Your mother is fine. She had a body check up because her pulse rate struck high after I told her about Ya Nuo. She wanted to come today, but I told her that she needed rest. I came in her place."

Ya Nuo furrowed her brows, "If that's the case, we could've postponed the engagement date. I never met grandma before, and I want her to see me on my special day."

Grandpa Hoon punched her cheeks slightly, "You don't know your grandma's stubborn personality. Believe it or not; she might already be here or is watching us from the cameras. She never gets old with her tricks. Anyways, how could I let you stay with Qiu Rei any longer after knowing how badly he treated you? I did a countdown to today's event because I wasn't planning on letting you follow him home after tonight. I was going to make an announcement and have you live with either your parents or Huan Hei. Definitely not him. For money, he would do anything. I'm sorry that it took me this long to clearly see his sly personality."

Ya Nuo held his warm hands, "Grandpa, aren't I healthy and happy now? I went from a little girl who didn't have anyone by my side to the happiest girl with a caring family. Being able to live up to this point and reuniting with you all are the only things that should be on your mind now. If someone wanted to cover their personality in front of another, no matter how prepared you are to rip those masks off that person, you wouldn't find a clue. So, it isn't your fault for my years of misfortune. This was a choice that Yang Qiu Rei made. Nobody is at fault. So let's focus on the happy thoughts now. Hehe."

Ku Ze patted Ya Nuo's back, "She's right. Look at your bright, cheerful grandchild. She's a gem and even found herself a great partner. Although everything seems good, for now, we still need to keep our eyes on him in case he bullies our Nuo. It's bad for your health to carry this burden and think negative thoughts. Focus on the present and future. How about thinking about Ya Nuo's grand wedding? We are going to make this huge."

Ya Nuo nodded in agreement, "Yeah, yeah. Think of the upcoming busy occasions~ You still need to help me look after Hei after we marry. I'll be sticking to you like glue so that you won't be able to get rid of me. You better not get tired of me when I show up everyday~"

Grandpa Hoon sighed, "You two are right. I need to focus on the future and not dwell in the past. I still have my granddaughter's wedding and many many great grandchildren to keep me busy. Heh."

Ya Nuo gulped twice before scratching her head in response. "Grandpa, I might eat like a pig, but that doesn't mean I can give birth to that many great grandchildren for you to play with..."

Grandpa Hoon laughed heartily, "Don't worry, nobody is forcing you to have that many. I'll be looking forward to some liveliness, though. Don't make grandpa wait too long. I want to be able to still run around with them and bring them to places before I get too old."

Huan Hei walked over to them, "Is everyone alright? It took the staff a while to get to the control room and switch the lights back on. They couldn't give me a proper explanation of what happened and tell me who switched off the lights."

Ya Nuo gasped, "Right! I totally forgot about Yang Qiu Rei! He went missing during the blackout! I was going to deal with that first, but grandpa wasn't feeling well so I totally forgot about him!"

Ku Ze quickly scanned the room, "She's right. He's gone."

Huan Hei questioned curiously, "That's awkward because nobody got out of the room after me. When I got out of the room earlier, I knocked into a staff who had a bag of flour and the flour scattered all over the place. Other than the footprints from earlier, I didn't see a third set of footprints when I came back."

Ya Nuo rubbed her chin as she explained what she had figured out after the lights came back on. "From the time when Huan Hei left until the lights switched back on, nobody left the room. Nobody got off the stage either because I would've heard footsteps or any type of movements. Unless it's like snot dripping out of a nose, and getting sucked back in, he wouldn't be able to disappear in thin air like that. There was a limited amount of time and space for him to escape. Except..."

She turned her attention to the stage and walked towards it.
