It started to rain soon after she stopped to rest. She looked up to the gloomy sky and opened her eyes while rain drops moistened her face. She laughed, cried, screamed, and hit her chest. The wig fell off her head and her hair fell down her shoulders. She tried whatever methods she could think of to vent out her anger, disappointment, and heartbreak, but nothing worked.
"Why does it hurt so much? In the past, my legs ached and that would stop me from feeling my heart ache. This time, I feel like I'm suffocating. So much that I want to carve my heart out. Each time my heart beats, I feel a tightness in my chest. Can somebody help me? Haha.. Hah… so running can't help me anymore because no matter how much I run, I can't avoid pain that was inflicted by the person I loved and felt closest to me. Why am I so stupid..? To think we are so strong and could overcome everything. Haha.. what a funny story. I overestimated everything...and chopped my heart to pieces. Now, I can't even fix this broken me."
The rain turned to a thunderstorm and she was soaked. She looked at her ugly colored wrist and smiled coldly, "This is the price of loving someone. I'm tired and I can't move anymore."
Yang Xue called Ya Nuo several times before she picked up, "You scared me! It's already 9 and you're not home yet! It's thunder storming now, where are you? Are you with Huan Hei?"
The moment she mentioned him, her voice broke. She couldn't say anything about him.
"Mommy, can brother come get me?"
"Honey, are you alright? You don't sound well."
"I'm fine. I'll be fine. I'm at the tracking field. Brother knows where."
"What?!! In this weather?? What happened?? Hello? Hello?"
"I'm fine.." she slowly lost consciousness.
When she woke up, it was already two days later. She was in a white room, covered in white bedsheets and plain pajamas. She got up and looked around.
Yang Xue woke up from her slight movements, "Sweetheart! You're awake! Thank goodness!!!"
Qi Yang went to call for the doctor and her father touched her forehead to see if her fever subsided. "Good, your fever is gone."
The doctor was dragged to the room and forced to examine her immediately. After checking her body twice, the doctor decided that she is recovering fine. "She can leave the hospital after a few days if her fever doesn't come back."
After the doctor left, her parents and Qi Yang surrounded her.
Yang Xue: "Sweetie, are you thirsty?"
Yang Ku Ze: "Do you want some fruits? Or any pastries or anything to moisten your throat?"
Qi Yang was not worried about her silence, but more focused on the bruises on her wrist and body. "What happened to you?"
When he asked that question, her eyes widened and started to burn from feeling wronged. Perhaps she restrained her emotions too well or much in front of Huan Hei, once that question rung her ears, tears drained down her slightly pale complexion. Her whimpers shocked everyone in the room and her parents quickly comforted her. They patted her back and rubbed her head hoping it'll help calm her emotions.
After crying, she refused to say anything. When they mentioned Huan Hei's name, she responded coldly, "No need to tell him I'm hospitalized. No need for him to bring me his notes or come visit me. I'll report to school myself and ask for a doctors note as proof."
Qi Yang: "Did that squirt do something to you?"
She lowered her eyes and rubbed her bandaged wrists, "No, nothing."
Qi Yang: "Then how did you get these wounds? And why are you acting so distant from Huan Hei?"
Ya Nuo: "Brother, if you really care about me, please don't ask anymore. I'm tired. Don't look for him either. I don't need him to know anything related to my condition. I'll report to school once I recover. Please."
Qi yang wanted to continue asking, but his parents stopped him. After she took medicine, they stepped out of the room to talk about her condition.
Yang Xue: "I'll take care of her at home. She never cried like this before. Her emotions seem unstable."
Qi Yang: "Something definitely happened, but she's not telling us."
Yang Ku Ze: "If she asks us to not interfere or ask anymore, let's stop. If she wants to tell us, she will. So focus on making her feel comfortable. I'll call grandpa to let him know that she's awake."
Yang Xue: "Go. Grandpa is worried sick about her. Also, remind him to not let Huan Hei know about her condition. Qi Yang, don't do anything that'll make her angry. You saw how much she cried, and my heart still hurts from hearing her cries."
Qi Yang: "I've been with her since childhood. I've never seen her cry like that before. I just want to know why.."
Yang Ku Ze patted his back, "Sometimes not asking is a form of care. Just stay by her side and support her."
Qi Yang: "Okay. But when she tells us what happened, whoever did that to her will not get away unbeaten. I swear on my words."
After a few days, Ya Nuo was discharged and went home to rest. During her recovery, Nana and Zhen Qi visited her. When they came, they were holding hands and a fruit basket.
Nana cheerfully hugged her, "Nuo! I'm here! I also brought Zhen Qi!"
Ya Nuo forced a smile, "I see. Finally you two got together."
Nana sensed the sorrow in her voice, "What's wrong? Shouldn't that jerk be here? Xu Huan Hei? Is it because he didn't come so you are feeling bad? Don't worry, I'll go scold him for you!"
Ya Nuo: "We haven't talked to each other since the day I collapsed on the tracking field. Don't bother communicating with a rock like him."
Nana: "What happened?" she sat next to Ya Nuo and held her hand.
Ya Nuo: "Remember that day after we had lunch together and then you felt thirsty so you took the water from my bag and drank it?"
Nana nodded, "Yeah, then I fell sick and felt very uncomfortable…"
Ya Nuo: "You drank the water that the Hen Qing girl gave Huan Hei to give to me. If I drank it.. then I would've been..."
Nana gasped and covered her mouth, "Drugged!!!"
