Chapter 20 - Chapter 20- I'm His Girlfriend

Huan Hei was silent for 30 seconds before replying, "My girlfriend is a very beautiful girl who is easily satisfied and independent. She always put other people first and herself last. She loves food and is always willing to try new dishes. She is straightforward, honest, loyal, and bright. When troubles come, she will be the first to help others. Whenever I need her, she would be there to listen and care for me. Her smile is the most beautiful smile that I've ever seen." He smiled happily and blushed as he thought of her smiling faces in his mind.

"Oh... it seems like Mr.Xu's heart is already taken. I'm sure your girlfriend is a beauty. I'm envious of her."

"Li Na, Huan Hei doesn't know what he is saying. He doesn't have a girlfriend. I've never seen her in person before so this is the first time that he is telling me about a girl."

"Auntie Xu it's fine hahahaha. Because I too have someone I like already."

"W..what did you say?"

"Hmm? Auntie Xu, what's wrong?"

"Li Na are you already engaged with someone then?"

"Nope. My parents told me that I can marry whoever I want as long as I love that person and the person loves me back."

'So that also means, my son has a chance. What is this child trying to play? How dare he lie about having a girlfriend. hmph!'

"Huan Hei, how come you never brought your girlfriend for mommy to see? Are you afraid that she is not up to our status and it would embarrass our family?"

"Mom, I didn't bring her to you because I don't want her to get involved with our family conflicts. I want her to be herself and not someone who would try their best to please others."

"You!"

Li Na smiled teasingly when she saw Ya Nuo walking towards the cafe and making eye contact with her. 'Heh, this couple is pretty damn cute! She's so fun to tease hehehee. Looks like I'll make some new friends today. Auntie Xu seems to want to hook me and her son up, but I'm not interested in him. Even if I am, I would never go for a guy who already has his heart set on a girl. From his description of her just now and his expressions, he loves her a lot. Sigh. When will mine love me I wonder."

When Ya Nuo got inside the cafe, everyone started whispering to each other because of her beauty. Some guys were trying to get her attention, but she was focused on Huan Hei. Her beauty stunned Huan Hei's mother. She couldn't keep her eyes off her. 'This girl is very beautiful. Her every movement shows her elegance and confidence.'

Ya Nuo smiled sweetly at Huan Hei's mother and walked over to their table. "Sorry for interrupting your dinner."

'This voice???!!!! Ya Nuo????' Huan Hei lifted his head and immediately stood up from his seat. "How did you..."

"Hello, my name is Yang Ya Nuo. I am Huan Hei's girlfriend. You must be Huan Hei's mother. Nice to meet you." she smiled and greeted with respect. Her voice was soft and soothing to one's ears.

"N..nice to meet you. May i ask which Yang family you are referring to?"

Ya Nuo was prepared to expose her identity the moment she decided to get herself involved. "I am Yang Qiu Rei's daughter."

"Oh! Pardon my questions, I just want to be sure who my son is dating."

"That's alright. I understand your worries."

"Huan Hei! Ya Nuo is so beautiful. How could you hide her from me for this long?"

"Auntie, this isn't Huan Hei's fault. I was too shy so I asked him to wait a bit longer before introducing me to his family."

"Oh dear, you don't have to be shy! Hei! Quickly help your girlfriend sit down!"

'Phew, thank god my son is straight. Furthermore, Ya Nuo is polite and elegant. Her family is not as powerful as the Huang family, but it's alright. As long as she isn't a guy or someone's mistress then I can rest assure and stop asking him to attend these matchmaking sessions.'

Huan Hei pulled out the chair next to him and helped her sit down.

"Hello Miss.Ya Nuo, I am Huang Li Na. It's nice to meet you." she held out her hand and Ya Nuo shook her hand. "Same here."

"Oh right! Ya Nuo, since this is the first time i am meeting you and I already decided to treat for dinner tonight, how about joining us for dinner? We are going to a restaurant called Momentium."

"Okay. Thank you for Auntie Xu's invitation then."

"You welcome! Auntie is very interested in how the two of you met. Can you tell me that?"

"Mom, we still have a guest with us."

"Actually, I'm quite curious as well. I wouldn't mind listening to your story."

'Is she doing this on purpose? But since they want a story, then I'll get them a story.' Ya Nuo wondered. She gave Huan Hei a quick glance and gently rubbed his hand.

'What is Nuo doing here? Did she follow me? Ugh, so many questions, but not the right time to get an answer from her. Did she dress up just for me? Hehe, she never fails to attract my attention. Let's see what story she comes up with.'

"Go on. Don't be shy. My mom wants to know how we met heh." he teased.

"Well.. when I first met him, we were at a school party and he was playing truth or dare with his friends. His friends dared him to get my name and number. I didn't give him my information and he lost the game. After the game ended, he looked around for me to apologize if he made me feel discomfort earlier. He handed me a cup of homemade lemon tea and told me that it is compensation for bothering my night. After tasting the lemon tea, I was very interested in his recipe so I asked him for it. When I asked him about the recipe, he told me that the only way he would tell me is for me to be his wife because it is a family secret. I refused and he spent the following months trying to make me his girlfriend. At first I thought he was weird, but I slowly fell in love with his personality. That's about it..."

"Oh? I never knew my son had such lame pick up lines. hehe... so bold too."

"Hahaha, so you let Mr.Xu have a taste of lemon for months before becoming his girlfriend."

"Yep. hehe" 'Ya Nuo.... you purposely made me sound playful in your story. But heh, how great would it be if you really were my girlfriend...'
