Synopsis
The world I live is different. They say our goddess Aphrodite created this world where people are blessed with stunning looks and said to be the best lovers. However, upon making the world that goddess Aphrodite desires there was a catch, a catch that made our world so different than the others. Everytime we fall in love, we lose a part of our soul to the person we love and it's vice versa when they fall in love with us. We die when we run out of soul to give or the continuously of giving souls to each other will tire them out. It's usually the latter one. Oh, did I mention we only have 50 years at most to live? Unlike me though I am immortal because I know how to cheat with death by simply not loving anyone. This is the story of a person who never found love.

Chapter 1 - The Agapanthus World

I'M RUNNING TOWARDS the building nearby, trying to get a roof under my head seeing it's pouring hard.

I'm starting to regret not bringing my umbrella like my roommate told me before I left the apartment.

I took my soaking jacket off once I'm sheltered and breathed a long sigh.

'Dear goddess why now?' I huffed as I stare at the park where I had been before it started to rain down.

I was trying to sketch a lovely flower that I stumbled upon on, that when I was half way done it suddenly started raining. And it ruined my work!

As I gritted my teeth in annoyance I see people are in a hurry to get out of the rain like I was, then a particular man caught my attention.

He was running towards the same building as I am with his bag perched on top of his head.

Once he's here he stood beside me well maybe like 2 feet away, there are lots of people who also took shelter in this small building so there really isn't much space to move.

I decided to take a peek at him and unsurprisingly, he is handsome as any man should be in this world. Especially with his hair being wet and is dripping down near his face.

'Good goddess! Now is not the time to be creepy' with that thought I divert my attention back to the park.

The world I live in is different. They say our goddess Aphrodite[1] created this world where people are blessed with stunning looks and said to be the best lovers.

However, upon making the world goddess Aphrodite's desire. There was a catch, a catch that made our world so different than the others.

Everytime we fall in love, we lose a part of our soul to the person we love and it's vice versa when they fall in love with us.

We die when we run out of soul to give or the continuously of giving souls to each other will tire them out and It's usually the latter one.

Oh and did I mention that we can only live 50 years at most? It's honestly not that bad as it sounds seeing as we die together with our beloved.

Because of our short lifespan the world was given the name Agapanthus. Apage; love and anthos; flower.

We live in a world where love is a big factor and flowers do live only for a short while hence the greek name. Aside from that, the flowers that blooms from time to time is agapanthus.

It gave us, Agapanthunians the impression that goddess Aphrodite love the agapanthus flowers to the point of naming it our world.

But unlike me, I'm immortal because I figured out that I can cheat with death. I decided not to love anyone even though it is mostly impossible since we are under the influence of the goddess that we are required to love a person.

However, people can't keep up with my pretend 'nasty' attitude therefore nobody really gave the effort for me to know them, much less love them.

I don't want them to give their souls to me and vice versa. Nor do I want corpses trailing behind me because they kept giving me their souls while I don't.

And the only solution to that is being an unlikable b*tch. I mean it's the only solution I came up with and so far it worked great.

Because of this I am immortal, I have lived for 378 years though I have the body of a 24-year old woman.

Apparently beauty does not age once you hit twenties, another perks of being immortal.

My friends and family had already died and I had to keep changing my identity and career every 30-35 years or else people would get suspicious.

This man beside me however looks so familiar that when I decided to take a proper look at him, he suddenly ran out of the building.

Today really isn't in my favor, and he was one of the few people I found attractive too. And that rarely happens, urghh.
