Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: There's a Woman, I'll Give You Face

```
"Oh?" Conroe's gaze seemed a bit cold. This kid seemed a little ungrateful.
"Big brother, he's disrespecting you." Another short and stocky boy beside him said foolishly. Conroe nearly got furious, thinking if it wasn't for this fool's father being one of his family advisors, this fool wouldn't even be by his side. How could such a shrewd father have birthed such a fool?
A few people around covered their mouths to stifle their laughter, but out of respect for Conroe, no one dared to laugh out loud. This only made Conroe's expression worse.
"What kind of place do you think this is? Do you think you're qualified to be here?" Conroe's tone became less than polite. He completely ignored the chubby man's words. What qualifications did someone in store clerk uniform have to be here?
The chubby guy was just about to argue when Mu Fan stopped him with a glance. He realized that the chubby guy's status among this group really wasn't very high, as the person in front of him could disregard the chubby man's face entirely, being the host, after all.
In the calm staring contest, Mu Fan's words softly yet clearly reached the ears of those nearby, "Or else what? Do I know you, or are you saying this banquet is hosted by your family?"
Creak, the short and stocky boy heard the sound of Conroe clenching his fist and shrank back a bit to quietly step aside. This fool was no stranger to Conroe's bad mood; this was clearly a bad mood! Better keep a distance.
"Kid, do you know who you are talking to?" Conroe suddenly laughed, but the chill in his voice made some of those watching the spectacle around him subconsciously back away. They anticipated a great show from the kid across from them.
Almost unnoticed, the chubby guy's fingernails had already dug into his own flesh. If it weren't for Mu Fan's look, he would've had to step in today no matter what.
"I don't know," Mu Fan calmly uttered three words. He truly didn't recognize the guy in front of him, who appeared high and mighty at first sight. Could he be even more formidable than Young Master Wen? It didn't matter; he would face him head-on. Ever since Black came along, Mu Fan's mindset had unconsciously changed.
"Terrific!" Black's voice filled with anticipation rang in his earpiece, how could such an interesting event happen without Lord Black around? Mu Fan certainly wasn't one to play it safe; trouble followed him everywhere. However, Lord Black had his back.
"Mu Fan, your tone should be even calmer, with your chin forward. It's a pity the surveillance here isn't thorough enough; I can only see your profile. Next time, you definitely need to get this lord's vessel out. Missing such an exciting scene is truly a shame!" Black continued his commentary while sighing regretfully.
Hearing Black's voice, Mu Fan felt a headache coming. By the time he heard the second part, his expression was already somewhat conflicted, and his once-calm demeanor slightly shifted as a wry smile tugged at his lips. There was nothing he could do; Black was not only elusive but also annoyingly cheeky.
Mu Fan's facial expressions were subtle, yet he didn't expect that the few people on the opposite side, including the chubby guy, would notice everything so clearly.
Conroe was someone no one dared offend in his class. The chubby guy had been bullied for over two years and now saw Mu Fan standing there with an inexplicable fake smile. The key was that he said, "I don't know," with a straight face.
This taunting move was absolutely brilliant, forcefully shifting the focus of enmity!
The chubby guy's face indeed flushed red, initially from being mocked, but now from excitement.
Conroe's expression was quite a spectacle. He never imagined he'd lose face to some unknown kid today. The looks from those around him, filled with suppressed amusement, infuriated him. Most importantly, some girls were approaching from over there.
Among them was the chubby guy's cousin, the one in the white dress, the most beautiful one!
Conroe couldn't endure it any longer; he wanted to punch the annoying face on the opposite side. That gaze showed no respect for the nobility at all. No matter what, someone in a tailor shop uniform couldn't possibly be one of their own. No matter how much the chubby guy claimed to be a friend, he was just a commoner. He had no idea that, in terms of opinions about commoners, he shared shockingly similar views with the ruthless character Wen Zheming—an inferior commoner.
Just as he was about to make a move, he heard a crisp, melodious voice beside his ear with a hint of wonder, "Why are you here?"
Hmm? Such a pleasing voice. Mu Fan slightly turned his head and saw the speaker. It was that girl he saw at Clothes Sand, the one who spoke so nicely? After careful observation, Mu Fan finally confirmed it.
When Conroe heard this sentence, his face was about to erupt but then miraculously eased back, his face once again dripping with graceful smiles. He turned and said to the owner of the voice, "I was just wondering who spoke with such a captivating voice. It turns out to be the noble and beautiful Miss Shelly."
The chubby guy, however, wore a visibly unkind look. Why was this distant cousin coming over? To see him and Mu Fan make a spectacle for her? He had no goodwill at all, believing she probably had seen enough during the walk over. Now she decided to speak, her mind indeed ran deep.
But this time, the chubby guy really misunderstood his cousin. In a place unfamiliar, she didn't want to stand out and was merely engaging in conversation with a few girlfriends. Those girls, it turned out, had a nature for watching drama and ended up following along, coincidentally spotting Mu Fan among them.
Shelly had an impression of Mu Fan because the scene she encountered around noon was too particular. On such a remote corner of a planet, they just wanted to stroll through some local specialty clothing stores, and encountering a shopkeeper mocking a customer completely ruined the mood. As she left the store and heard him asking to have the clothes packaged, her impression of Mu Fan, who was then anonymous, was simply—someone who maintains face at all costs.
Seeing Mu Fan now had Shelly truly astonished. Spanning the two ends of the galaxy, she didn't believe such a coincidence could occur for someone unable to even afford a suit to be attending this kind of gathering.
After her opening question went unanswered, she turned with a look of dislike toward the speaking man beside her.
Hiss! Conroe felt a fleeting amazement in his heart; indeed, she was outrageously beautiful. The natural grace she bore inherently could not be matched by the second-rate aristocrats of Loga Star. Rumor had it she was a scion of a major family from Blue Capital Star. If he could connect with her, it would be a shortcut to the top! At this thought, Conroe's smile intensified. Sadly, this image did little to cover his true nature, a trait Shelly disliked in this kind of person.
"Why are you here?" Shelly simply ignored the self-absorbed young master's words and continued to address Mu Fan.
"His name is Mu Fan, my friend, and I invited him here." Finally, the chubby guy couldn't endure silently any longer. Never mind Conroe, but was she also coming to watch his embarrassment?
Conroe turned his face, ignoring the reaction of the beautiful woman who disregarded him. Without acknowledging the chubby guy, he self-importantly declared, "This lowly commoner had somehow snuck into the banquet. I'll have him leave now." Turning to reprimand Mu Fan, he said, "With such a fine lady present, I'll give you face. Walk yourself out."
For the first time, Shelly's eyes showed a blatant look of dislike. How could someone of such low intelligence appear at an occasion like this?
Whether it was a simultaneous feeling or not, Mu Fan also quietly spoke, causing Shelly's expressive eyes to widen.
"With a woman here, I'll give you face too."
