Chapter 19 - Sugar poem: may 2017

Words: EAT, MATTER, WEIGHT, DEAD, RELIEF, DENY,

No sweets,

Remember, they cause blemishes, warts, and blackheads. Not to mention increase heartbeats.

But my resolve seems to clatter, and I can't think straight when I see my friend come out of the door, holding up a plate.

And nothing seems to matter when I see those treats on that platter,

"Would you like a slice of berry pie, my mother spent all night to make and create these desserts."

It would be a lie if I said that I would not like a slice of berry pie.

I would hate to cause grief to say no and mistreat the one who made the pie.

And who am I to deny that one slice of pie will matter? Surely, this sweet does not apply as a treat I should not eat just this time.

That's a lie, I know, and I almost cry to let that piece of pie go.

"Oh, go ahead."

No, resist. Just one bite, I insist.

"No thank you." I said and sigh in relief. I did not fall to defeat, yet I still grieved for that pie, and almost cried in my state.

"Oh, I understand, would you like these instead?" And lead me to piles for sugary bread covered in a buttery spread.
