Chapter 1 - Who are you?

Nakamoto Ayumi, a ordinary 17 year old girl in her junior year of high school, went to the grocery store to buy some ingredients for the dinner she was to prepare for her family at home. "That'll be $20.57 ma'am." Ayumi handed in some cash and walked back home. While walking, the loud sirens and flashing lights of an ambulance drove through the streets and into her neighborhood. Shocked that the ambulance went there, she ran as fast as she can to see what had happened.

The groceries dropped on the cement ground. Tears dropped as she saw her father, strapped onto the stretcher ambulance bed. Her mother and brother was crying endless tears. "What happened to dad!?" Ayumi asked. "He had a heart attack!" Her mother sobbed. The ambulance crew hurried to the hospital to save Ayumi's father. "Quick get the defibrillator!" "Doc we might not make it!!" "We can!! Hurry!!" When the ambulance reached the hospital, Ayumi's father, had already passed away.

Mournfully, the rest of the family shed tears. Ayumi turned away, she didn't want to look at her deceased father. She was too sad to even look. She walked ahead and sat down on the bench by the hospital building. As she wipe her tears, a drink popped out in front of her face. "Here, drink it, you might feel better." She looked up and saw a boy, who seemed to be around her age. "I'm sorry?" She said. "You seem really sad, I'm sorry for your loss," he spoke. Ayumi held her tears back.

"Nakamoto, Ayumi what a sad life you've been living..how hard it must've been on you..." the boy said softly. Her eyes widened. "How do you know my name?? Who are you??" The boy didn't answer back, he just blankly stared at her then looked away. "Hey, I asked who are you?? And how you know my name??" Ayumi questioned the boy. "I wish I was there for you in your darkest times." He replied in a low voice then walked away. Ayumi grabbed him by his wrist. "Please answer my question... please.." He then looked at her again and hugged her warmly.

"Believe it or not, I can see through people's pasts . Sometimes, I wish I wasn't gifted with such ability. I saw your past, you went through a lot of things, and I felt that. I want you to be happy. I don't want you to feel alone." He paused for a moment, "I want to be there for you." She couldn't hold her tears back after what he said. Tears kept falling down, never ending, filled with such sadness. She doesn't even know him, yet his words were touching her heart. She felt warm and secure in his arms.

"Ayumi..." her name echoed indistinctly. "Ayumi.." "AYUMI!!" Her alarm was ringing loudly. "Hurry before you're late for school you idiot!!" Scolded her mother. She looked at the clock and gasped, "OH MY GOD!! SCHOOL STARTS IN 20 MINUTES!!!" She rushes and left home without packing her lunch. When she arrived at school, she was already 7 minutes late. As she walked in her classroom, her friend, Kaya asked ," Why are you late today?? Ran into some problems at home??" She shook her head tiredly, "I woke up late," then sat down in her desk. "Weird, you never woke up so late before and be like 10 minutes late or whatever," laughed Kaya. "Yeah, that's because I happened to have this weird dream today," Ayumi sighed.

The classroom door knocked. "Oh! The new student must be here! Please come in! " The teacher said. All the boys gossiped. "Is it a girl?" "I hope she's sexy looking." "Man hopefully it's a girl." The new student walked in the classroom. It was a boy. The rest of the boys scoffed, "it's another boy," and is uninterested now. Tiredly, Ayumi looked up to see who the new student was. Her eyes focused on the new student, "why does he..." Kaya looked as well, "he's kinda cute, I'd hit." Ayumi recalled her dream she had this morning. Her eyes widened and she gasps loudly, "AAAHH!! You're that one guy!!" The whole class looked at her with blank stares.

"Do you know him Nakamoto?" The teacher asked. She noticed the whole class staring at her and it became awkward. "Uhhhh.." she laughed awkwardly and scratched her head then sat back down. "Will you introduce yourself to us new student?" The teacher smiled. "The name's Sanyu. Kimura, Sanyu." He seemed bored. "Alright then Kimura, you may sit in the open seat next to Ayumi," The teacher pointed towards Ayumi.

She was frozen, the boy in her dream will be sitting next to her. Sanyu walked over and sat down. He glanced over at Ayumi then laid his head down and slept. Kaya looked at Ayumi and whispered, "Lucky! You get to sit next to the handsome guy! You better take your chance! He's really cute!" "I'm taking no chances! Leave me alone." Ayumi immediately answered back in shock and took her book out to read. "Your book is upside down smart one," Kaya said. Ayumi banged her head on the desk.
