Chapter 30 - Fight with a Mech

The metallic monstrosities started toward me as I held my ground the sound of a bow being pulled taunt was the only sound in the world to me as I pulled it back. When it was released the sound of thunder came from the bow as the arrow broke through an invisible barrier around it the arrow exploding upon impact not from any explosives but the sheer power of the attack.

With a frown I realized the arrows I had were actually the limited of my attacks as the machine took a few steps back. Each shot of my bow was shot with an arrow that had been modified slightly each time, though I didn't have any solution as each shattered upon hitting the metal body. If this was a one on one battle I had confidence in taking down one of these things with my bow alone sadly there were more coming at me.

With a twist of my body I started firing rapidly at all three of them to stall them aiming at their legs to try and get them to stop functioning. Sadly as much as I hoped it would work, they steadily made footsteps towards me.

"Shit.." The armor, the steady pace, every movement of these things I had underestimated. My only hope was that they were as flexible as their ridged bodies looked.

With my eyes narrowed I was about to find my answer as suddenly a sharp blade of water came out of the ground under one of their feet. The foot and the knee of the device had been cut cleanly by the water and tumbled to its side.

The explosives I made earlier wouldn't have enough damage to destroy the actual machines, I doubted they could even scratch them so I used a technique that bomb squads used on cars. Two explosions happening at the same time would force water into a highly compressed state and force it straight up in a line cutting apart the trunk of the car away from the rest of it with fast acting water. Since all the blast was concentrated upon a single point that water would cause a massive amount of force in a very confined area.

I had created five of these in various locations near me, that would go off like landmines and cut through the weakest parts of the structure, the feet. To my dismay this preparation didn't seem to be enough as it slammed one of its arms into the ground to stabilize itself. When the machine looked up it paused though as I was nowhere to be seen, it froze completely when it heard a voice, "I really didn't want to have to use this.."

Powder formed a cloud around the machine as it stood there, suddenly there was screams coming from inside the machine before blood started to pool at its feet. "They still have to breath in that damn mechanized armor, plus this gives me plenty of material."

Metal arrows started forming in my hands as I started shooting them at the remaining machines, the arrows still exploded but they created much larger dents along the body. "I need to find an arrow blueprint if I can."

Explosions of water came from under the machines as they walked, slicing off pieces of their armor in chunks but they kept coming like zombies. When they got closer suddenly one bunkered down as the other stood in front of it acting like a shield maiden taking all my arrows to its dented body.

My eyes widened as I noticed all the air around it get swallowed up by one of its arms, and as I jumped the machine that was under me nearly disappeared as a large cannon ball flew through the wreckage. "I didn't think we'd be playing that gam-"

As I started to taunt it the air started to swirl into it as I was in midair. Being quick on my feet, I forced the air under my feet to solidly as I jumped again barely dodging the cannon ball. As a third one was about to fire I had Morningstar grab me out of the air and fling me at the ranged attacker.

When I hit the outside of the armor a small contraption connected into the shell of the machine before I kicked off quickly. It was a simple machine made of a mana core battery I stole from the first machine, a series of copper wires, and a magnet. The machine clicked before converting the mana into electricity making the mech stop as the smell of burnt hair filled the area.

As I was congratulating myself I had forgotten about the enemy behind me as I felt my body snap to the side, sending me flying like a baseball. With just the force of the attack I skipped across the ground several times before stopping my body bruised, bleeding, and I felt as though a few bones had been broken.

My whole left side seemed to be useless, not able to move as the bones seemed the shift in more painful ways. I nearly screamed while I forced myself to sit up but only let out a painful hiss.

"Fine you want to fucking fight‽" I unsummoned all of the stranglers around me and something slammed to the ground in front of me. It's imposing figure slowly stood up in front of the machine as the cackling of power started to form around it.

The god drone let out a roar to the sky the shook the ground around it as rocks started to slowly raise from the ground. "Look what that asshole did to me, are you going to let that stand?"

The drone looked back to me, it's eyes seemed uninterested before looking back at the enemy in front of it. It seemed to be thinking, before finally the machine was lifted off the ground and thrown into the ceiling of the floor before being allowed to free fall.

The drone looked back at me with a look of annoyance, and I could tell that it felt like I called it out for something stupid. This was showing that I myself wasn't very strong, and it looked down upon me because of that. It clicked its jaw a few times before disappearing into a light.

'God Drone has unsummoned itself.' My eyes widened at that, as I didn't even know that was possible before the pain in my body brought my mind back.

"God damn this pain!" I yelled out and immediately regretted it.

'Lupe approves of your request to feel more pain, and gives you their blessing.'

'Friendship with Lupe increased.'

"I have to watch my words in a world where gods actually exist!" I ground my teeth together and called out to William. "I need your help and this may sound weird, but brake the bones on the other side of my body and prepare some water."

After the machines were gone this battle was won, I resummoned my stranglers to help the goblins as I grabbed a ball from my pocket setting it beside me and creating a bath around me.

William looked at me very confused before getting the water, trying to put off breaking my bones but couldn't refuse after I kept asking. As the cries of pain settled down from him injuring me another screen appeared.

'Friendship with Lupe increased.'
