Chapter 6 - (KICKED OUT THE DOOR) HEARTFELT GOODBYES

As Azaire and Jared walked into the door they were met with a truly unbelievable sight and Azaire froze instantly. Standing in the doorway Azaire saw littering the floor was all his stuff packed and ready sitting there alongside what he assumed was his brother's stuff with a very dejected brother sitting right beside it.

Upon the door opening Roran of course looked up and noticed his little brother had arrived with a strange towering man in tow, but this man was disregarded for the time being as Roran's sole focus was his little brother. The only one left to give him solace!

'Finally someone who can understand my misery!' Roran got even more excited as he saw his little brother's horrified expression after seeing his own stuff tossed out for him too. "W-what is this?" Azaire could not keep the dismay from his voice and Roran who had already gone through the horror his little brother now withstood immediately hopped up soothingly and consoled him all while sharing his own misery and getting to complain to his hearts content but still coming off as a concerned big brother.

Azaire listened carefully as his brother complained to him with a slight amount of petulance in his voice on how, while he was in the smith with their dad this morning, their father had disappeared all of a sudden. Roran had not known for a good two hours before his dad had suddenly showed up looking happily flustered and brought Roran into the house to be greeted with the horror Azaire had walked in to see. And then their dad, Robert, explained that he and Azaire would be taking a trip with master Talya.

Azaire allowed himself to bemoan his parents unsettling enthusiasm to push them out for a moment or two longer before becoming bemused instead. Honestly it was not unfair of them to react in such a way, after all if you gave up a good chunk of your life to take on the full responsibility of raising, feeding, and providing for not one but three kids I suppose you'd want a break too.

As if his tolerant thoughts finally gave them form Azaziel Brightwood and Robert Blackhand suddenly appeared very suspiciously from upstairs. As a master of decorum and sophistication the only sign of something awry with his mom was a very slight unnatural flush to her cheeks and a very well veiled excitement in her eye's. As for their father however did this man even try to hide it?

His hair was an utter mess as if someone had spent great efforts sliding their hand through all around until they had messed it up entirely. His face was completely flushed with a happy glow and while he still smiled good naturedly there was a very hungry look in his eyes but not one that would be searching for food to satiate, and even as they came down he kept stealing slightly impatient glances to his wife.

Azaire who had already been there talking with Roran over 30 minutes and Roran who had been waiting here nearly three times as long for his brother felt their level of horror instantly peak. Only Jared who was not apart of their family and truthfully did not know a whole lot about mortals to begin with stood unperturbed. He only thought the two were very interesting. The two brother's however had completely different thoughts running through their head.

These two! How could they be so shameless? We're still here dammit! Don't you have any sympathy for your poor children? We're sure to be scarred for life! How can we ever live normal lives again! What proud dad? What loving mother? Charlatans! These were charlatans we say!!! As the two brothers inwardly ranted and bemoaned to themselves any trace of sympathy they might have had for their "loving" parents kicking them to the curb disappeared instantly.

Who wanted to know of their parents doing that sort of thing? It obviously happened but that was in a distant far away land for from their offspring surely, these things just didn't happen near them! (Double-standards much) Just as the two forlorn son's thought they couldn't get any more embarrassed or horrified their mother opened her mouth,

"Hmmm....it seems those sound proofing barriers really did the trick? We should've installed them ages ago!" Roran overwhelmed to the extreme passed out on the spot unwilling and Azaire who now had even more vivid thoughts that could not easily be erased, instead turned and plunged his face into Jared's massive muscular chest to hide from the horrible thoughts in his head. What was going through his mind as he buried his face deeper into Jared's chest in a bid to hide from intangible and unreal thoughts was anybody's guess and even Azaire himself probably didn't know why.

Meanwhile a grinning Azaziel and a happy-go-lucky Robert rolled their eyes at their children's dramatics. Honestly how old were they? They could not honestly expect that the two remained innocent around their kids right? Please with this drama for such a small matter.

At this moment however the two noticed the extra personage in the room who currently had their beefy arms wrapped around their younger son as Azaire childishly hid in the man's chest. Jared himself was surprised and had been thinking along the lines of: 'OH. Do humans cuddle often too? I thought I'd have to make up some excuses but can things be so easy...' Upon seeing who the young man was Azaziel stood straighter her eye's wary and guarded and her aura changing making her seem more human.

"Prince Jared it is a pleasure to have you in our humble abode. I see you have become very powerful to have refined such a small body at such a young age. But what could the prince of the giant country be doing all the way out here in our little countryside?"

Prince Jared took the question in stride but Azaire was stunned as he couldn't help but wonder, how does mom know who he is after just meeting him in person now. Azaire was certain Jared had not yet introduced himself but his mother had gotten his identity perfect. Did mother used to be an adventurer after all?

Azaire had always thoughts his mother's skills and behavior was far too different then normal villagers or even city-goers. He had long since entertained she might have been some type of adventurer or foreign traveler of some sort but he had never really had any undeniable truth of the sort. Wasn't this practically evidence?!?

Azaire turned in Jared's arms both surprised to find himself there and surprised that the giant had not only accommodated his theatrics but he had also took the chance to hold him close in a snug cuddle and had made no move to let go after Azaire seemed to calm down but Azaire was too embarrassed to bring this up or try to wiggle free. So he stayed put obediently as he listened to his mother's conversation with Jared.

"No it is my pleasure to make your esteemed presence Lady...." Jared started only to be interrupted by Azaire's mother. "Azaziel. Just Azaziel is fine. Ms. Azaziel if you must!" Jared again took it all in stride as he continued as if the interruption had never occurred.

"Azaziel I am very pleased to make your acquaintance and even more pleased to have met your son as he is is a very agreeable companion and perfect to travel with. I am sure our journey will not be boring thanks to his presence. As for my presence here that would naturally be because I am the patron Lady Talya is supposed to be assisting. I am very glad to have her expert assistance in my dire time of need and even more thankful for your son's presence in such time as well!"

Jared was of course only speaking about Azaire as the Roran the other son had been completely forgotten and disregarded by him. Azaziel looked to Jared then toward her son who had long since relaxed into Jared's hold.

Suddenly there was a twinkle in her eye and her wariness disappeared as she nodded in approval to seemingly nothing but the thin air. Her current husband was clueless about her thoughts and Roran had only just woken up from his own theatrics. Azaziel finally replied with a tone like a cat that had caught the canary,"Very well then I'll thank you in advance for taking care of my son from now on!"
