I was already late for school. My van didn't
come to pick me up till 08:00 am.I was out of breath as I ran towards the school ground. The mics were still being tested. The shuffling hadn't started yet. Phew!
"Lissa! Here!"
I scanned the area for my 5 ft tall?..nah!..5 ft short bestfriend. Her raised hand hardly reached the eye-level of a guy standing beside her. Still I found her easily in a hoard of 200 people.
She came running towards me - her face hitting me smack centre of my chest , her arms flung around my torso - and squeezing me tight around the waist. My breath left in a woosh.
"Lissa Lissa Lissa! It's been so long! And you look long-.... I mean taller!", she said in a accusing tone while her eyes narrowed.
I'd actually grow ...if you call going from 5'7" to 5'7" and a half growth!
I smiled down at her.
"You look good too."
She moved back so she didn't have to bend her neck that much to see my face.
She started to say something but a senior teacher called our attention and asked all students to keep quite.
"A very good morning to all. Now one by one I'm going to announce the names of students, section vice. After hearing your name kindly stand in front of the corresponding placad with your section name i.e. A , B ,C , D or E."
Oh! Finally , the class shuffling was going to happen. In 6th grade I got seperated from my crush due to is being put in different sections.
I hoped that this time we would be in the same class.
