Maddie was an ordinary teenaged girl, but she has a secret that no one knew about. She was superhuman! With her extraordinarily rare powers, she went in disguise as Madam Shelby. Sadly, the name was only meant for when the rare time comes of her actually getting caught while doing super heroic acts like preventing vehicles from crashing or other disasters. That wasn't the only thing she used her powers for. Maddie also fights evil, tainted "Lamos" who were lured in by the ruthless and cruel Agnoks—demonic beings that look to human souls as a food source. She had it rough with all the fighting and her already busy social life. Sometimes she had missed school because she overslept after her exhausting missions, or she missed her Student Council meetings when she was saving humans from natural disasters.
"One day..." she sighed while continuing, "just one day of peace and relaxation!" All of that stress had really gotten to her, but she made sure to keep on a smile and stay strong. Many looked up to her, so she wanted to make sure she can be the best role model. Though she tried her very best to hide all her pain, she was an open book to her parents. Whenever they asked her what was wrong, she shoved them away and locked herself in the bedroom. 'I don't want them to know what's been going on with my life. They'd never be able to understand. They'll probably think I'm a freak... no one can know my secret.' Maddie thought to herself as she laid on her bed.
Finally, her parents had enough of their daughter's secrecy and really pushed it this time. "Sweetie, you need to tell us what's wrong, or we'll never be able to help you!" Her mother, Merlia Jannath, stated as Maddie came into the kitchen to set up dinner after the usual of living two lives.
"It's nothing mom. I'm just having it rough, is all," she said while placing down the plates and forks. 'Hm, where is the pitcher? Oh right, the fridge, dumbass...'
"Really, sweetie? Is that really all? I've heard from the school that you've been missing quite a few of your club meetings. They said you might get kicked out. Mind telling me what's going on with that?" Merlia sternly asked while giving Maddie the 'eye'.
"Um... I ALWAYS WENT TO THE ALLEY NEAR MELLOW ST. TO FEED AN ABANDON CAT!" Maddie shouted out from nervousness as this was her first time every coming up with such a lie to tell her parents. Most of her lies were actually pretty good and weren't this generic.
"Huh? Then could you tell us, lovely daughter, why you keep waking up so late?" Shahin Jannath had finally spoken up.
"Homework. Too much work to catch up on. Though, it's getting easier to do now. Most likely because I'm getting used to the flow now." Maddie calmly replied, almost surprising herself. 'It's no lie, all the homework I've been getting is a bit too much for me as I'm always busy saving this country. Glad I resorted to keeping one country safe and not the whole world.' She wasn't enough to save everyone in this country, so helping out a whole other country is already far beyond her capabilities. That's why she resorts to smaller ones like natural disasters and pollution hazards. Her heroic acts get noticed a lot and raised quite a lot of suspicion, but she is somehow able to get past it all.
Maddie's parents weren't completely satisfied with their daughter's answers though they let her go for they knew she was already too exhausted. Mrs. Jannath calls out for the two younger children as she takes out her famous lasagna. Though she wasn't a properly educated cook, her meals tasted of a world-known chef's. 'She could always make simple dishes the most tastiest in the world.' The young hero thought as she placed down the pitch of water.
"pWooSh!" A little kid, the height of a baseball bat, came running into the room with slime in his hands.
"Mommy, mommy! I have goo on my hands!" Kyle said as he kept playing with the blue slime on his hands.
"Ugh, mommy, why this boy be my twin? He's soooo annoying and gwoss!" Lilith, the other twin said. She had a snarky attitude, unlike Kyle who was adorable and naive, she always made sure to point out what was wrong and 'bad' in her eyes without caring about anyone else's opinion. This caused her to have a lot of friends in her class, but they were what you called 'fake.' If she didn't fix that attitude and find herself a better group of friends, she'll soon be left out and all alone. As her sister and an awesome hero, I plan on fixing that...
"Daaaddy! Lilith is being a meanie again! She won't even allow me to draw with her crayons." Kyle cried out to mother and started to put the slime up to Lilith's face.
Kyle seemed to be better at pronouncing things, but that was most likely because my father tried to push Lilith to speak more Bangla as it was his mother-tongue. This also meant Lilith had a stronger Bangla accent.
{Maddie's POV}
"Hmph, that's actually pretty reasonable since you broke every single one of hers last time she let you borrow them." I quickly butted into the conversation as both dad and mom looked like they were about to snap any second.
"Hey! That's because they were so weak. Weak crayons deserve to be broken!"
Kyle said as he pouted. He then turned his back with his slime in his hands and went back into his room—probably going to put his slime back.
"This is why we should just put him outside foheveh! Da big mouses would love to eat trash like him?" Lilith ruthlessly declared while taking a seat at the table. My mother then glared at father with angry eyes. Kyle came back with a sour expression placed upon his face, and waited for mom to place him onto his chair. He was ridiculously short, confusing people of his age. He's 8, just like Lilith. The same day, same hour, same month, same year. Everything except the minutes. Lilith was 10 minutes earlier. Gosh, I wonder how it felt like to have twins. Must hurt like hell... ugh.
My mom and dad were assistants and friends of CEOs in different companies. Which is why I don't have much time to talk to them properly sometimes. Though, I don't get to talk to them properly mostly because... I just can't. My father and mother were once too busy to attend my parent conference.
They seem to have gone to school with many soon-to-be-famous, well-off people. They were pretty good at business related stuff. However, those bore me, so I never really got into it. Being a superhero or a marine biologist was more my stuff.
Besides saving people's lives, getting rid of evil, and having fun adventures, I loved marine life. It interested me, though maybe it'll change soon. I'm interested in many things. Another one was dancing and singing. I was in a performance club before I quit from the lack of time. At this moment, I am in 4 different clubs: NHS, Student Council, Deep Sea, and Foreign Languages. I've learned up to 9 languages fluently thanks to my super growth skill. It allows me to grow in a particular area of skill in a crazy short amount of time.
