My parents have always usually been pretty much loving and supportive parents. Which is why I have always chosen to be close to them. I know a lot of kids who aren't close with their parents, and I truly feel bad for them. I may have put my parents through a whole lot of shit while I was in highschool, but I know they love me. And that they will ALWAYS be there for me.
And now hoping that they aren't mad at me about getting pregnant. I guess I am most worried about them disowning me. Or rather them not wanting to talk to me again. Yes, my parent have money. But my whole life I have noticed something. I've heard people say the same saying when I was younger when I use to go to my father's company.
I remember the older man telling me something. They would always tell me to listen closely and to NEVER forget this. Mostly because it would make me survive in life. They told me that "Money Makes The World Go Around".
At first, I didn't understand it. I was only 8 at the time. So I asked my father what the man had meant when they said
"Money Makes The World Go Around".
My father then told explained that money was very important and that it could solve a lot of problems. But again since I was only 8, I didn't get much what he meant. At the age of 8, I thought money was mostly just paper that was meant to buy me barbies or other toys. But as I grew older, I soon started to learn that somebody who had a lot of money in the business world, it usually means they hold a lot of power.
When I was younger I LOVED money. I wanted to take over my father's company. But he told me no. Mostly because I was a girl. He told me that my younger brother should take over. It wasn't because he was sexist. it was because he told me that the business world was very dangerous.
Which is true. And that I should never be involved in it. And after he told me that, he asked me. If I ever wanted to do business, that I do it safely. Thinking about all of these memories made me think more and more about how my parents would react toward the baby.
Logan and I were about only 10 minutes away from my parent's house. And I kept getting this weird knot in my stomach. Like the one right before you go down a hill on a rollercoaster.
I placed my hand on my stomach to put me at ease. Logan must have sensed something was wrong so he looked over to me. "You okay?" he asked concerned. "Just a little worried about how they will react," I said. Logan then focused his eyes back onto the road to make sure we weren't about to hit anything.
"Don't worry Aria. Nothing will go wrong. They might be a little mad. But they love you. Nothing will change that. And it's more likely that they will be calmer than my parents. I feel like my father will totally disown me and give the company to my older brother." Logan said.
I know that was a huge worry to Logan. His whole life he had been working toward 1 thing. Owning his father's company. My father works in insurance while Logan's father has his own law company.
His older brother hasn't worked hard ever in his life, and Logan knows that his father could hand over the office to his older brother if Logan ever screwed up.
"That won't happen, Logan. Your father isn't stupid. Your brother would destroy that company from the ground up. Your father wouldn't do that. He may be disappointed in you, but he would do anything to keep his company alive." I said.
Logan's father has always been very selfish. He was never a good father figure to Logan. Logan's father was always paying more attention to Logan's older brother to prepare him for the business world. But Logan's older brother doesn't want to run the company, more use and abuse it for its money.
After relieving each other of our worries, we finally arrived at my parent's house. We parked the car and slowly headed toward the door. I took a deep breath before knocking on the door loud enough that at least one of my parents could hear. Or Daphne their maid.
The door opened only 1 minute later revealing my mother who was dressed in a tight red dress and a cigarette in her hand.
"Aria?" my mother asked. I smiled and quickly gave her a hug. She instant returned the hug. "I missed you so much Aria." my mother said. "I missed you too mom. Is dad home?" I asked her trying to get straight to the point. "Yup. Is there something you need to talk to us about?" She asked me.
"Yes. Is there someplace we can all talk?" I asked her and she nodded. She invited me and Logan inside and brought us into the kitchen where the breakfast nook was. My mother then left to go get my father. "Don't worry. Everything will work out just fine." Logan said trying to calm me down.
My breathing was quickly getting faster. Logan could sense that I wasn't calming down so he brought me into a hug and I buried my face into his jacket. "Thank you for being here Logan," I said. He pulled away from the hug. "Anything for you guys."He said as he placed his hand on my stomach. I gave him a small smile before giving him a quick peck on the lips.
Logan and I both took a seat on the bench and awaited my parents to meet us in the kitchen. The longer they took, the more worried I got. But Logan slightly squeezed my hand each time reassuring me that everything is going to be okay.
Finally, both of my parents made their way into the kitchen and taking a seat in front of us.
"So sweetheart, what did you want to talk to us about?" my mother asked me. "Well, I have good news," I said. "Did you get a boyfriend?" my mother asked excitedly. "Yes. But that's not what I am here to talk to you about." I said. My mother then frowned. "Who is it?" she asked trying to get back onto the subject of the boyfriend.
I looked over to Logan and he nodded. "Logan," I said. My mother's frown then turned to a grin. "I knew it!" she said happily. "But that's not the reason why I came here today. I came here because I wanted tot ell you that I am pregnant. And Logan is the father."
