The planet was a very cold one and everywhere you looked you could see snow and ice. The wind made it even worse since it let the cold penetrate even the thickest of clothing to chill one's body.
"Your training remember, protect it will you fro the cold.", commented Yoda and strode away with his normal casual Jedi robes and mantle.
"How can Master Yoda just walk around with those thin clothing. Even if we use the Force to protect ourselves its so cold here.", said Ahsoka now and rubbed her hands to warm them up.
"You want to be completely immobilized? You are already wearing as much thick clothing as one can wear.", said Jack back and exhaled some air that became vapor instantly.
"How come you are not affected at all?", she asked him suspiciously.
'Why indeed. Terra?'
[Your race is very cold resistant because your homeworld Korriban being a cold climate world. Even the planet Ziost that your race resettled later was mostly formed of ice and tundra. Very much like your old homeworld.]
"That is probably because my homeworld is Korriban and the planet is rather cold in climate as well. So...I am used to it?", shrugged Jack lightly and put his jacket hood up because the wind was still annoying him somewhat.
'Thanks for the info, Terra.' He thought at the same time to the guide that gave him the information after that quick question.
[You are welcome. But that also applies the other way around and you should be careful about tropical planets or worse, desert planets. Your race is not that heat resistant because you got fewer sweat glands.]
'Hmm, anything else?' Now Jack became curious about his body.
[Avoid water-based planets completely if possible...]
'Huh? Why is that? So Kamino and Mon Calamari would be a no go for me?'
[Your body is rather heavy with your muscle and bone density. You could try learning to swim and get used to it or use the Force to help you out to compensate that but just to be safe you should keep away from large bodies of water. That is unless you want to sink like a stone to the ground...]
'....' Jack was amazed by this disability that he got told about now. He had to make sure he trained himself in swimming asap after they went back.
"Well, ain't you lucky. For me it's definitely cold here." Ahsoka complained and brought his attention back at her.
Jack only smiled wryly. "Trust me. For that one advantage, there are other disadvantages..."
"What kind? I somehow can't imagine what would be your bane?", she asked back.
"Hot planets for example would be torture for me. That is if I don't use the Force to cool myself down."
Ahsoka looked at him and then smiled.
"What? Are you feeling schadenfroh now? It's not like I will ever visit some desert planet or something. Come to think, what is your homeworld like? It should be rather neutral in the climate that you are saying its cold here."
"Shili? Yeah, my homeworld is actually rather normal. But there are of course cold days when winter arrives and hot days in summer. And I am just smiling because I get to know that you also got weaknesses."
Jack raised both brows lightly. His stalks were much smaller and barely visible so it looked like he made big eyes.
"What exactly are you thinking about me? I am as mortal as anyone else here."
"Tell that someone else.", commented the Twi'lek male youngling from the side.
Jack looked to the side. "You too, Rak?"
Ahsoka nodded in agreement. "At first you were pretty bad at keeping up with us in training but soon you beat all of us in the spars and then that training you let us go through. You know we all think you are some kind of machine with inexhaustible stamina. So it's surprising.", she said and gave him a toothy grin.
Jack only sighed and looked forward. "Hmm, looks like master Yoda stopped." Everyone else also looked back to forward and soon stopped their walking a few steps behind the grandmaster.
"Climbing up this mountain, you must.", ordered Yoda when looking back at them.
"What, really? Up there!?", asked Arin while looking up. The others also did the same.
"Show you the right path, I will. Follow me atop, you must. Or fail this already, you will.", nodded Yoda, and then as if his frail old age disappeared he started climbing up the steep mountain.
"Alright..." Jack was spinning his arms around his shoulders lightly to warm them up a little and went ahead to the wall. "Just like the simulations..." With those words he started climbing up.
The next up that did not let herself get told twice was Ahsoka who tried to even climb faster than Jack.
At some point, she even surpassed him with a big tongue outstretched at him.
'Huh.' Jack was amazed by her climbing speed. She was very flexible sho that agility she had did come in handy to her here. Smiling he also increased his speed and tried to beat her.
The climb was hard and arduous. Even though Jack had a rather high vitality stat, he also had to take a few breaks around some points to revitalize himself with the help of the Force.
Soon he reached the top and exhaled in relief. Then Jack only reached his hand towards an exhausted female Togruta that was also coming up the last bit of the climb.
She looked up at him and grasped the hand. He pulled her up to her feet at the top.
"Beat you." Jack smiled proudly.
"See, a machine with inexhaustible stamina it is.", she responded.
Jack realized what she meant and he had to chuckle lightly. Then they both waited for the others and helped them up the last bit of the climb.
The climb was at least not too dangerous that someone could die. Yoda also seemed to always stop and look back at them for a few moments. Probably if he saw someone struggle or fall he would use the Force to save them.
Now atop the mountain, they saw an old temple entrance which lay in front of them. Entering they could see a hall.
"Wait here until the storm stops, we will. Then your crystals search, you will." Yoda went towards some stairs and sat down.
The others all looked at each other and then also went ahead to get some breath back into their bodies. At least no one was cold anymore through that exercise.
Jack was looking at the frozen waterfall at the other end of the round hall that hid the entrance to the kyber mine.
He could already feel the presence and hear the whispers of the Force inside his ears. This place truly was a hub of power.
"Master Yoda, why do we have to travel to this place for the gathering? I thought that Tython still had a kyber crystal cave on it? And it was the former Jedi headquarters, no? Why go here to the unknown regions of all places?", asked Jack now after coming closer to the grandmaster.
"Illum crystals, strong, they are. At Tython, not many left, there are.", answered Yoda.
Jack nodded in understanding. Well, he could have come to that answer himself. It has after all been a few thousand years. At some point, the crystals would run dry for sure. And it was possibly why the Jedi had a mining right for them in the Republic.
"I see. I can understand that.", replied Jack and Yoda smiled.
