*Beep Boop Biip*
A small droid was dancing on Jack's stomach and focused his lens on his face and waited expectantly for something.
"Urgh...BD-8, I don't have time to play with you...Go to Kelana if you want to play around.", replied Jack to the Binary code he now learned to understand thanks to David and Kelana.
Jack grabbed the little bipedal scout droid that was now fully functional again and let him off at ground level where he was not annoying him anymore.
The little droid's antenna went down and he ran fast towards the young Togruta.
*Beep Boop...*
Kelana chuckled a little bit. "I know, little guy. Master just seems to be in a bad mood today. Don't take that to heart. He still likes you." Then She poked the little fella on the head and the droid looked back at Jack.
"Kelana, I just got a massive headache....Actually, I remember now seeing some green paint of something when that wrench fell on my head from the shelf...." Jack now straightened his body and frowned.
His gaze went back to the droid that was now clearly panicking and trying to play dumb as if he didn't hear him or something.
But obviously that didn't work and BD-8 started running away with red warning lights showing at the back of its head and shrill tone
"BD-8..Get over here, you little scrap-head." Jack instantly came down from his chair and ran after the droid.
Man, looks like he really came to love that droid. No wonder it keeps seeking attention from him.", mentioned David now while fumbling with some components from a broken lightsaber that had no kyber crystal inside.
"He did collect Gundams when he was little, right?" reconfirmed Ben with a question.
"What are Gundams." asked Kelana now after hearing the two of them tak about something she never heard of.
"Oh, uhm. Little figures of droids and other tech stuff...Don't mind our little weird talks..."
Ben and David could only smile wryly after they nearly forgot about her still being here.
"Oh, look at this. I am getting a signal on the scans."
"Hmm, what is it?"
"So we finally made it. About time", said Jack when he was back. BD-8 was in his grasp and only struggled to escape but to no avail. Then he came over to the controls and placed the droid on it.
"BD-8, link up and zoom in that object there. Show us a holographic.", gave Jack as a command now.
The little droid suddenly stopped its antics and looked out the window and looked into space in the direction Jack was pointing.
Then its little feet linked up with the board computer and its right eye focused as the left projected a well-zoomed image for them to see.
"Is that....Those things are still burning...", commented Ben
"That is actually strange. Wasnt it said it is an abandoned ship", asked David back in a curious voice and thought about the reasons for this outcome.
"Can you zoom up the right side of the ship more, droid.", asked another voice now. When the three of them looked back they saw that it was the merc leader Billy.
*Beep Beep Booo*
"...Sorry...BD-8....Can you please zoom in more.", asked the merc again in a more polite way.
*Beep* The image became even bigger and clearer now.
"Damn...That smoke coming from the other ship docked close by. I actually know its identity. That ship was supposed to stay and hold guard until we came here. They are the ones that gave us the info."
"What then? Pirates or some other clan playing dirty?", asked Lyn after also joining the cockpit area.
"Pirates, maybe. But no one should be stupid enough and dare to go against the Hutt's in their own territory. Besides that, if they are pirates than they seem to have had a disagreement halfway through. Why else would both ships be damaged like that?"
Jack looked at the zoomed-in holographic.
"Prepare your guys. Equip yourself for combat." He squinted his eyes slowly. "We should not expect friendly behavior of them. And before you say anything, I don't care if they are supposed to be on our side. This group comes first and then we will see what we do with them. But..."
He pointed at the other hanger side of the abandoned ship.
"We will dock there to make sure no complications occur about...Our ship. Got that?"
The merc only nodded and then walked out to inform the others.
"What do you think, Jack?", asked Ben while piloting their ship towards the destroyed Venator class that slowly but surely gut larger and larger.
The hull was ruptured and its engine was ripped apart to near no recognition. It was remarkable how most of its components still were neatly close by. But that was space for you. No gravity. And if you came to a stop anywhere in it, you would remain there forever or travel until you hit something.
"I don't have a good feeling about this mission. Suddenly my body feels tense all over."
Kelana looked at him as if she wanted to say something that was like that but noticing Lyn still being present she refrained from talking.
"That bad. Shit" , sighed David somewhat. He could tell that if a force user was feeling weird it had something to tell. "Okay let's also get ready." With that, he also went away.
Jack shifted his look at his apprentice. "Come, we need to prepare as well, Kelana. BD-8."
*Bee Boop* The little droid jumped down from the console after terminating his link and followed the two back as well.
Lyn actually sat down and looked at the wrack closing in.
"Why the sudden gloom? Its only an old abandoned ship with some idiots fighting over scrap.", she asked.
"They have their reason. And I trust their judgment...", answered Ben when he looked over to her.
"Hey, uhm...If we don't make it...I want you to know that I really like you. I feel bad having started on such a bad note..."
Weirdly enough Ben was trying to get his conscious free now.
Lyn only raised a brow and stared at him. "Okay, now you actually make me worried. Have some backbone and don't be so negative. You sound like as if the world will go down or something."
She stood up, came over, and hit his shoulder. "And that was for being a bit creepy.", she added and walked away.
Ben only sighed. "Fuck..."

Later their ship slowly flew through the destroyed hanger of the wrack. What was surprising them was that the vacuum shields were working, indicating gravity being produced.
But it was still rather dark inside otherwise.
Landing their ramp went down and all of them slowly came down from the ship.
"Looks like we got gravity but no breathable oxygen.", said David while analyzing the atmosphere.
Everyone already got their masks on with a few days worth of oxygen capsules.
"Seems the others managed to reach the reactor and reactivate power supply with the resources they had, though not much.", agreed Jack with him while pointing the flashlight of his rifle in various directions.
"So the best action would be we reach that point as well and get the juice running with the energy cells we got with us.", said Billy now and pointed at the container both his guys were carrying.
"Man, the more I know about you, the more I like it that our job gets easier. You are well prepared for everything, huh?"
"Hey, those were supposed to be used elsewhere. Just a coincidence that we would need them here", said David.
Those were actually his that he brought at the space station they resupplied at. But now they would come in use here.
"You will get new ones. Lets move." Jack started walking towards what looked like the main entrance towards this hangar part that lead further into the interior.
