"Hmm, well duh? Who else's disciple would I be, fool? Plus, can you not sense the false energy that lingers around me like wandering spirits in a cemetery? Sigh, Master was right humans truly are the smartest and dumbest race to exist," he said with disdain.
"Fortunately, I'm not human, however, haven't you heard the saying, 'that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all,' because while I may not care, not everyone takes kindly to disrespect, kid."
"Sorry, but I was taught never to lie, so why should I care if someone gets upset because I said something they don't like? Especially, if they come from a minor race that gets emotional about every little thing a person says or does. Also, if the words of a kid can incite such a reaction, doesn't that tell you more about the attacker than the aggressor?"
"He's got a point there," Claire giggled as she glanced at Morpheus's awestruck face while Shadow purred and returned to her nap.
Before being forced to wake up shortly afterward, as the once vibrant cocoon started to dim like a lightbulb about to blow out. Just as cracks ran rampant across its surface, causing the reddish lightning to get out of control as it episodically struck the area around them.
Leading to our small audience of spectators having to dodge and weave as they moved around the stone platform so they would not get electrocuted in the process, or worse vaporized as the environment within the ark rupture changed.
Which all stemmed from the coincidental discovery of a suspicious cocoon of unknown origins, following the abrupt appearance of two mischievous brats, who snuck into a newly formed ark rupture.
But that is beside the point as the once-still ocean of ink began to churn and tumble as a multitude of golden translucent sea creatures began to swim around the stone platform creating a whirlpool underneath them.
That allowed the core of the ark rupture to be unveiled which resembled a crystallized icosahedron specked with purplish-blue and green runes just as the cocoon started to pulse erratically.
Spewing out orbs of grayish light that flew off into the distance like comets as five rusty chains shot out from the stone platform and connected with the strange islands in the distance.
Meanwhile, as that went on more cracks appeared on the cocoon as the chains connected to the stone platform began to rattle and shake before breaking and falling into the ocean. Commencing the arrival of something spectacular yet ominous…
As with every chain that broke waves rose and fell like valleys as the dimension gradually shrunk like a balloon losing air.
'Took you long enough,' thought Shadow and Charlie as they sensed the entity within the cocoon was about to wake up after an eternity.
"Hey, is it just me, or has the stone platform gotten smaller?" Claire asked after taking her eyes off the cocoon and surveying their surroundings.
"Um... not really, but who cares as we'll be leaving shortly," Charlie replied as Morpheus nodded in agreement.
"Sigh, if y'all say so," she muttered even though she felt this was not something to ignore. But just to be safe she moved closer to Morpheus in case anything occurred.
'I'm sure everything will be alright, so relax and focus on the phenomenon at hand as it might provide insight into what ark ruptures truly are.' Morpheus said to Claire telepathically as she was the one with the most knowledge of ark ruptures, second to his brother.
'... I will try and thanks for the reassurance,' Claire replied as she gazed at Morpheus briefly, before taking out a notebook and writing down everything that had happened since they arrived.
Simultaneously, as this went on, time seemed to stop as the dimension degradation became apparent as the waves ceased and the clouds within the sky dispersed leaving a singular white and black sun floating in the sky.
That helped shed light upon the situation at hand as the once-sleeping being awoke with a flutter of his eyes as the sound of a gong rang throughout the dimension.
Announcing the arrival of an emperor like in ancient times yet, before they could even guess what was going on. An explosion of grayish light exploded from Rin's body, destroying the cocoon that once sealed him in an endless nightmare of memories. Along with the dimension which was on its last leg.
