Chapter 79 - Last Moments - Part 2

Simultaneously as this was going Shelly Grandmother, Nunu suddenly awoke her granddaughter from her slumber…

"Hmm, what is it now, grandma?" Shelly asked with a yawn as she squinted her eyes and gazed upon her grandmother who just looked at the sky solemnly.

"…" Nunu said as he remembered a quote from their sect's depository of ancient articles, 'Seek and though shall find it, ask and it shall be given, knock and surely it must open.'

"Sigh, Grandma… Grandma… GRANDMA SOMEONE STOLE TOBI!" Shelly shouted after trying on end to get her grandma's attention and to no avail until her pet cat was brought up and she finally snapped out of her trance.

"Huh? Just what is it, Shelly, and who dared to steal that sack of fluff?" Nunu asked with curiosity as she glanced at her granddaughter.

"Sigh, please tell me you didn't wake me out of my bed for nothing, now Grandma?" Shelly frowned as this was not how she expected her day to begin like this.

"Oh, sorry about that, however, an opportunity of unimaginable magnitude has appeared as it is not every day someone opens a new path! So, get up and get ready because to acquire this opportunity, we are going to need to hurry," Nunu exclaimed after noticing a strange bolt of lightning flash in the sky a couple of miles away from them.

Following the shift in the world laws especially Fate and Destiny, as a massive dark cloud appeared in the skies. Which constantly discharged arcs of red, black, white, and gold lightning upon the earth in anger and frustration to kill an insect that dared to test its patience one too many times.

Yet, that was not the only reason the Heavens were mad for this also marked the beginning of that blasted prophecy, prophesied by that blind soulless child of the Hollow Family.

Subsequently ending the 10,000 years of tranquility, it tried so desperately to keep but as they say, "all good things must end as what is meant to come will come… regardless of whether it is now or later as change is inevitable."

"Huh? But Grandma, I thought~" Shelly tried to say before she heard a snap and suddenly everything around her flipped as her grandmother used instant transmission.

"No, time to waste my darling, or else all will be lost yet again," Her grandmother shouted as she closed her eyes and visualized where they needed to go.

However, due to the restrictions the deceased Gatekeeper placed upon the planet, it was hard to use the law of space to swim through spatial nodes and get from point A (their current location) to point B (Rin's location in the new terraformed volcanic region).

Nevertheless, since it was a Divinity-ranked technique with just one step, Nunu managed to cross twelve miles in an instant and appear just in time to watch Rin overcome his tribulation.

A few minutes later...

Zap. Swoosh. Thud. Bleurgh.

'Still too weak… Sigh, just what has your father and mother been teaching,' Thought Nunu as she shook her head after letting go of her granddaughter and witnessing her throw up and ruin her pajamas.

"Hmm, even with all that it seems we're still too late," She muttered with a glint of sadness in her eyes as the once ink sky was starting to fade away as the once terrified and frantic laws of Destiny and Fate.

Began to calm down after a third party stepped down from their throne and intervened or else all would have been lost yet again...

Meanwhile, in one of the realms connected to the God Realm, rain began to rhythmically fall from the ash-gray skies of Barcelona as it made a constant pitter-patter sound.

That rang through the vacant streets of the evening, a time when most were either asleep or conducting shade business. However, that did not mean you would not occasionally see a few faces pop up here and now…

Just like our uninvited friend here, who kept checking her surroundings every few seconds or so as she wore a black trench coat. That concealed the two short blades holstered on her waist and her piercing silver eyes, which shined like two torches in the late hours of the day.

"No rest for the weary, ay Michael?" Our mysterious friend of the night asked with a giggle as she suddenly stopped and glanced at an empty alleyway with scrutiny and intrigue.

Before walking into a pub as if she were completely unconcerned of the troubles or implications, her actions will have on her future.

"Shelly," Nunu called out after seeing her granddaughter change into a new set of clothes after cleaning herself up.

"Yes, Grandma?" Shelly replied as she looked at her grandma, who was gazing at her hesitantly with a fire in her eyes as if she found the resolve needed to move forward.

'Truly, she couldn't be thinking of...' Thought Shelly before shaking her head as she knew her grandmother was not the suicidal type, but then again you can never be sure nowadays.

"Um, Grandma is everything alright? Is there anything I could do for you?" Shelly asked worriedly after not receiving a response from her grandmother as she prayed in her heart, what she was about to hear was not like, "I am sorry, my love but I must do this."

"Sigh, Shelly you know my situation and the reason why we made this trip… so, before you freak out could you please calm down and hear me out, for a moment..." Nunu tried to say before she was interrupted by a granddaughter, who was visibly shaking as she tried to contain her emotions.

While muttering something her mother used to tell her, when she could not control her emotions, "Breathe in, breathe out, allow everything to just disperse from your body, setting it free of the world's constraints and returning yourself to nirvana."

After repeating that short mantra three times to herself, Shelly finally calmed down. Allowing herself to return to a state of peace before saying, "Grandma please... tell me this is a sick joke as even you should be aware of the consequences. Your actions will have not only on our clan but the strength of the Federation if you dare commit such a selfish act!?"

She shouted as she could not accept, how such a powerful being could just throw away her life to gain a bit of enlightenment.

"Haha, Shelly while I love that there are people who still care and worry about me… I am but an old soul on the edge of her grave bed whose been stuck in a rut for a long time. So of course, I would take this opportunity to try my luck and see if there is a Heaven above Heaven." She explained with a smile as she gazed at her beautiful yet cold granddaughter who usually only cares about herself.

Yet, at times like this, you see her true self, the loving and caring Shelly Flaminia Bay, the princess of the Phoenix and future heir to Tranquil Dream.

"Hmm, wait what's that?" Shelly exclaimed as she saw a battered and bleeding teen gaze at them briefly before disappearing.
