Lu Jianjun offered no immediate response. Instead, he paused, taking in the evident fatigue etched around her eyes. After a beat, he simply nodded, avoiding her gaze for a moment before returning it with a guarded expression.
Dropping his neatly clothes on a nearby couch, he stepped out in the gallery, stopping just short from where she sat. His hands slipped into his pockets, and he hovered there, as though torn between leaving and staying.
"Where?" she pressed softly, her eyes searching his.
Lu Jianjun was caught off guard by her question, his response stumbling for a moment as he mentally calculated the best way to respond. "Meeting," he said, trying to offer no more than necessary.
