"Is it because of him? Are you meeting him tonight?" Yin Yuli asked, her voice lowering slightly as she stepped away from the crowd to find a quiet corner. Her tone was careful yet probing, the words hanging in the air as she waited for Mei Lein's response.
"Yes, I am. I'll be leaving in a few minutes," she admitted, her voice carried the weight of her responsibilities and the pressure she was under.
"What's wrong? Were you busted?" Yin Yuli asked as she stepped out of the door headed towards the front-yard.
Mei Lein sighed, "Mom was furious earlier. Apparently, Aunt Zhang complained about my absence, and even Senior Sister Genji came over, questioning her about what's going on with Mei Xing. I can't delay shifting to their house anymore…"
Yuli frowned, "That family," she muttered, irritation dripping from her words. "They never miss a chance to meddle, do they? And Mei Xing... is there any news about her?"
