Li Na began typing a response, her fingers hovering over the screen as she started to write back to Lu Jun-hui's message:
Thanks, Jun-hui. The shoot went fine...
Her thumb paused, and she stared at the half-typed reply for a moment. She backspaced slowly, her thoughts spinning.
No. Texting wasn't enough.
She pressed the call button instead. The phone rang several times before Lu Jun-hui picked up.
On the other end of the line, Lu Jun-hui's voice was groggy, as though he had just woken up. "Li Na... were you asleep?" he asked, his tone carrying the remnants of sleep, yet tinged with supurise.
Li Na smiled faintly, leaning back against the headboard. "Not yet. The shoot wrapped up a while ago, I was about to head to bed though. I'm sorry for calling so early but I just wanted to check. You sound like you just woke up. Did I disturb you, we can talk later."
