Chapter 31 - Role For The Day

During their lunch, Lu Jun-hui was visibly struggling. His eyes, red and sleep-deprived, barely managed to stay open as he faced Li Na across the table. Each question she fired at him felt like a dart hitting a bullseye, showcasing his lack of preparedness. Three hours into their meeting, and it was turning into a mental marathon that threatened to drain his last reserves of energy. He could almost see stars orbiting his head, a cartoonish indication of his frazzled state.

With a look that mixed exasperation with a plea for mercy, he glanced at Li Na. How could she still look so energized? Doesn't she feel the slightest headache? For heaven's sake, just faint, you damn woman! His silent prayer was desperate, hoping she would succumb to fatigue before he embarrassingly did at the table.
