Chapter 11 - Symptoms

After the exhausting therapy session, Li Na felt a wave of anticipation wash over her at the thought of food. She had endured a month of nutrients pumped into her veins, and now, the prospect of a proper meal filled her with a sense of normalcy. As she sat down at the breakfast table, her stomach grumbled in response to the delicious aroma wafting through the air.

But as the plates were placed before her, her enthusiasm quickly dissipated. "Oh lord… What the heck is this?" she exclaimed, her nose wrinkling at the pungent, sour smell of the dishes. It was as if someone had boiled everything in acid, leaving only the remnants of bitterness behind.

"This will be your daily nourishment meal," one of the maids replied, her tone matter-of-fact.
